My favorite thing about being a bo***ir photographer has always been watching my clients grow and change. I've had several clients over the years that make sure they come and see me every other year. And some that see me every single year without fail.
The first time they come into my studio, they probably don't sign a model release. They are nervous as all get out and when they fill out their pre-session questionnaire they do so with a bit of trepidation. It's conservative. They love the idea of a bo***ir session & take their session seriously. Every detail planned.
Then they feel that rush you get from seeing yourelf through someone else's lens. The thing I hear the most often is "oh my god, who is she" & I always make sure to let them know it is THEM. I am a vehicle for the art, but you are driving it.
So today, Courtney and I did her third session. Her first signing a full release and while we were shooting today I just kept going "holy s**t". All of her photos have been beautiful, OF COURSE. But through her weight loss, her career changes, and the other things that just come from life she has become such a confident little power house.
(She is 6'1" and I think calling her little means I need to mention that. She hung my swing today for me just by standing there. I was in awe.)
