Sometimes an engagement session is as simple as meeting up at the Crestwood shops, sharing a cocktail, telling some stories– and taking some photos.

I had a great time getting to know and photographing Megan and Mike – their wedding is just around the corner on June 6th and we decided to sneak in a 30 minute engagement session to warm up before the wedding day.

The reality is that some of our clients want to fly to New York for engagement photos and others love a simple session taking less than an hour. Both options are beautiful. Having some time to meet with and practice with your photographer prior to the wedding day is such a game changer. 💯

It was the most anticipated moment of the day… After Peyton and Sam made a grand entrance to meet their bridal party on the rooftop at – they immediately flopped a coin to see which groom would get to walk down the aisle first.

The moment didn’t disappoint- we captured it from all the angles… Peyton wins! 🏆

This day couldn’t have been more iconic. I cannnnot wait to leak more evidence.

Shooting at the TWA hotel in New York was a career high ✨

The historic old TWA headquarters, a piece of architectural artwork, was restored in 2019 and now serves as a fully renovated hotel and event space.

When my wedding clients, Matthew and Alexandra reached out with the idea of shooting their engagement session partly at this hotel I was quick to say 🤗. Alexandra – an architect by profession – was ultimately drawn to this location due to its architectural importance while Matthew – the grandson to a TWA stewardess (and a lover of aviation) was drawn to the location as well. The idea and the planning came to perfect fruition on the day of our shoot and I will forever remember this incredible experience and the photos we were able to create.

Thank you, Alexandra and Matthew for the incredible hospitality and for allowing my daughter to come my assistant… She was able to watch your incredible display of love and you set a standard for her that I can’t thank you enough for. 🫶🏼

INTRODUCING: Fine Art Family Photos ✨

What if you had ONE carefully curated image that represented your family’s season of life in every little detail…The bike your son just learned to ride, his favorite water bottle, the book you’ve been inspired by lately, the hint of a growing belly indicating your next child is on the way…

Fine Art Family Photos are intended to create one iconic, story-telling image of your family life RIGHT NOW.

This concept/ idea has been brewing in my mind for a couple of years now and I’m so excited to finally create an offering. 🤗

I .art will be offering Fine Art Family Sessions spring and fall of 2026. Sessions will include : pre-session meeting to plan details and location, 10 drone images, and the option to add a basic 30 minute “classic” family session (for a complete story-telling experience).

Can’t wait to create intentional art in this next season.

Make it look like we were shooting for hours in NYC but instead we had thirty minutes in KC 💅🏼.

Some of our couples are opting to split their lengthy engagement sessions into two smaller sessions and we are here for it👯‍♀️. Mia and Kyle opted to shoot a quick downtown session in February and will follow it up with a spring session in May. The purpose of engagement sessions is to exercise the muscle of being photographed and to learn how to stand in your confidence – often times this takes more than one practice… Moral of the story is: The more you can be photographed prior to your wedding day the better you will feel. It’s that simple.

Mia & Kyle…can’t wait to spend more time creating with you soon ✨.

I’m GIDDY as we head into wedding season knowing Peyton & Sam’s wedding will be my first to kick off the year.

This week I meet with these two handsome men to finalize timeline and wrap up all the details making sure the wedding day runs smoothly- we’ll hold the meeting over espresso martinis obviouslyyyyyyyyy.
