Skylar & Jake 🤍
Some couples walk in front of the camera and I fall in love with what I do again. A couple so clearly in love and making my job easy.

Their love felt effortless, sweet, and fun and I was just there for the ride. Documenting the quiet moments, the posed moments, all of it.

It felt like a classy romance film I got to watch and I’m not complaining!!

Kelly & Ivan had a colorful, playful wedding day in Kansas City filled with so much love and intentionality 💛

Some highlights:

• the couple and their guest singing “bloom” together during ceremony
• the couple requesting we do “cocktail hour portraits” with guest! Think photo booth, but make it a bit more of a mini session for each guests with my second photographer 😍
• the saxophonist leading us from the candlelit reception to the ballroom in the house next door 🎷 (such a magical moment)

I can’t wait to make a blog post about this incredible day but for now an Instagram post will have to do. I downloaded 145 photos to potentially add to this one post so there will most defienly be a part 2! 😂

I had a huge response when I posted the BTS of this wedding the first time and it really goes to show how much people love a colorful backyard wedding day! This day was so unique and really a dream to capture 🤍

If you’re planning an intimate (or big) backyard wedding in Kansas City I’d love to capture your day 🫶🏼

I’m currently booking 2027 wedding days!

Mia & Bryce’s wedding day was the best was to kick off wedding season a few weeks back 🤍

These two were so happy and stress free through the day and the photos really show for it! The best advice I can give you on your wedding day is to work with vendors who allow you to be fully in the moment and relax! 🥹🫶🏼

This weekend I was having a conversation with a friend of a friend who also happens to be an upcoming bride!

I was asking for all the juicy details. Vibe, venue, colors. She looked at me and said, “Ugh… I fell into the 2026 color trends. Can you guess?”

Her colors were burgundy and chartreuse.

And I immediately thought… why are we acting like that’s a bad thing?

There has been so much negative discourse on Instagram and TikTok about how “trendy” things like basque waist dresses and certain color palettes are going to feel dated in a few years.

And honestly? I think that’s bu****it.

You are getting married in 2026. It is okay if your wedding looks like 2026. There is nothing wrong with that.

I get it, truly. When I was planning my own wedding, I felt this pressure to make everything feel super unique and different, especially because this is my job. And if I’m being honest, that mindset just made everything more stressful than it needed to be.

It doesn’t matter what your colors are, as long as you love them. It doesn’t matter what dress you wear, as long as you feel beautiful in it.

I have photographed so many “classic black and white” weddings and every single one of them looked completely different. Different couples, different energy, different guest lists, different venues. The details are never what make a wedding feel the same.

Trends exist for a reason. People love them. There is nothing wrong with choosing something that is popular if it feels aligned with you and makes you excited.

And one last thing to remember. You are being completely immersed in wedding content right now. Your guests are not. They are not analyzing color palettes or dress silhouettes the way you are.

What makes your wedding day feel unique is you.

If you’re planning your wedding and want photos that feel like you while still capturing all the beauty of your day, I am a Kansas City wedding photographer currently booking 2027 weddings. I would love to be a part of it 🤍

I don’t think I’ll ever get over this day. It was relaxed, joyful and intentional, all of the best things for a wedding to be 🫶🏼

I don’t travel nearly as much as I used to for wedding days but every now and then I get an inquiry from a sweet couple that I just can’t pass up! This was one of those day 🤍

Surrounded by their loved ones, in the backyard of a cute little A-Frame on the Olympic Peninsula Tessa and Jake got married. It was perfection ✨

Engagement session are where many of my couples learn how to be themselves in front of the camera 🤍

If you feel like you’re “just not photogenic” I promise you that is not the case! One of my favorite things about engagement session is it gives me the chance to prove you wrong, BEFORE your wedding day.

My biggest wish for you is to get to be fully present on your wedding day and really enjoy it! That starts with trusting your vendors and knowing we have your back! Getting to work with you before and help you get use to what having a camera in you feels like ahead of time is one major step toward making that happen! 🥹🫶🏼

The best thing you can do on your wedding day is be present 🤍

Honestly, this is as much a reminder for my couples as it is for me with my own wedding coming up.

One word I see on almost every inquiry is ✨candid ✨ and I LOVE it.
Photos that feel like a movie.
Photos where you can see the love and feel the laughter.
Photos that hold memories for a lifetime.

But here’s the thing…to get candid photos, you have to be candid!

Let yourself live in each moment! Trust the team you thoughtfully choose months ago!

The good new is it really is just about relaxing, leaning into the moment with loved ones and enjoying yourself! If there’s any day to do it, it’s your wedding day!

I’m currently booking 2027 wedding in KC and if candid photography is on your list of wants for your day, then I would love to chat with you! 😘🤍

Counting down the days until golden 9pm sunsets with rolling green hills and flowers 🥹🥂

It’s closer than you’d think! (Or at least that’s what I’ve been telling myself)

If you are interested in working together this spring or summer don’t hesitate to reach out sooner rather than later!

I have very limited availability for couples sessions this season, as priority will be given to my wedding couples who have engagement sessions with me. Between my own wedding events and celebrating three of our close friends getting married, this season is extra full in the best way 🫶🏼

To my 2026 & 2027 couples— Hi!! 🤗

If I haven’t reached out already I’ll be in touch soon about engagement sessions, planning and just catching up with you! 🤍

So excited for 2026 🥂

Hey, I’m Emily! ✨🥂📸

This space is where I get to showcase what truly feels like the best job in the world. Capturing meaningful, beautiful moments in your lives is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I don’t take it lightly for a second.🤍

Above, you’ll find all the facts and details about Emily Arwine Photography, but here’s a little more about me.

I was born and raised right here in Kansas City, and I genuinely love it. After high school and in my earlier photography years, I traveled a ton. Some of my favorite places I’ve been are the Dolomites in Italy, Cannon Beach in Oregon, and anywhere with a beach in Mexico. Traveling is still something I love so much, but these days it’s a bit more recreational and a little slower paced 😉

This September, I’m getting married to my high school sweetheart, Noah, who has been by my side since my very first wedding. Wedding planning has been such a fun experience, and it’s allowed me to connect with my own brides in a whole new way. 🥹🫶🏼

On a normal day, you’ll find me up early reading and drinking coffee, heading to the gym, and working. Noah and I love spending our afternoons walking our corgi, Joey, around the nearby lake and soaking up time with friends and family. I’ve also recently fallen in love with cooking and baking. We’re big outdoor people, so winter isn’t quite our season, but we can’t wait for warmer days filled with volleyball, weekends at the lake, and summer travel. ☀️

I’m endlessly grateful for this job and for all of you who support me. 2026 is already looking incredible, and I can’t wait to see where the rest of this year takes us 🤍
