A holiday party with very little room with lots of people and emotions going around me.

Thankfully, I have two camera bodies allowing me to capture more authentic moments with fewer people noticing me taking pictures with my long lens, and then I can capture a close-by moment with my short lens. With me, you get more coverage. More range and more depth.

I couldn't play ultimate at Sectionals due to injuries, but taking pictures is the next best thing I can do for my KC ultimate squads and capture the moments for them. I was grateful to be able to take pictures of all the KC club teams in one day.

Thank you to Benjamin White for holding my gelled flash!

It was amazing meeting the photographers who I look up to and have looked at all of their pictures on their website to see how and where I can improve.

It was a pleasure to meet new creatives and to talk about our favorite Pixar movies. There are so many great ones, my favorite is Ratatouille. It still creates an awe within me.

The first time I met Sky was at a photographer and model meetup in October. That day, she looked like Harley Quinn, someone you wouldn’t want to mess with. However, Sky is extremely nice and easy to work with.

So when I met her again for our session, I didn’t know what she would be wearing this time. I didn’t see her come in Café Corazón. But we were both sitting between another person, waiting for the other person to come in. I then glanced over and saw her, and we started our session.

We talked about what music we’ve been listening to lately or what music we like. And we both said Bridge Over Trouble Water. I think that song matches the mood for these images.

Those lyrics provide so much about life and friendships.

The Chiefs Super Bowl parade was a joyous and warm February day. However, the mood shifted to fear and terror after multiple gunshots rang out after the conclusion of the speeches, injuring 22 people and killing one person.

Unfortunately, shootings are in the back of our minds when going to events/or being out in public in America. Enough is enough.

When there’s another celebration parade in KC, I’ll gladly be back. I won’t let fear win.
