I am SOOO ready to tackle blue skies and ocean vibes today 😍. It is going to be SUCH a beautiful day. Excited to be here with the vendor team and cannot WAIT to meet all the photogs coming in anywhere from Boston to Cali! 🎉

We have photographers coming from coast to coast to create together this weekend and 🥹 my small business owner heart is so👏🏻freaking👏🏻happy👏🏻.

🚨IT’S RETREAT WEEK!!!!🚨

I cannot believe our San Diego retreat is FINALLY here. In 48 hours I’ll be heading out to San Diego to explore and truly have the time of our life. Friday everyone else will fly in and we’ll get straight into shooting with THREE shoots that evening. 🎉🌴
•
We’re going to create some GORGEOUS art this weekend. My hope is that everyone coming on the retreat will grow as artists and humans. That a community will be built and that it’ll be such a supportive environment. It is going to be such a fun weekend. 🥹
•
Now am I anxious as hell to get there already??? OF COURSE!!! I’m dying over here 😆 Today I’ll start some packing to make myself feel closer. CANNOT👏🏻WAIT👏🏻TO👏🏻RETREAT!👏🏻🎉

What’s YOUR growth plan for 2024? 👀🧡

I’m alllllll about setting goals to achieve. Otherwise I feel like we can get lost in the sauce, so things that don’t align with our goals, ultimately wasting our time. 🥴
•
Have you set business goals for 2024? January isn’t over and it’s not too late!!! I’ll show you how I do it!!
•
✨Goal: Reach 3,000 followers by the end of the year.
✨Plan to Reach: Post consistently. 1 still post every weekday and 3 reels a week. Interact with other posts and post to my story every weekday.
✨Goal: Work with 100 different photographers this year.
✨Plan to Reach: Network, network, network! Talk to people. Learn about them, talk about their biz, be a supporter! Also the social media plan helps a TON.
✨Goal: Have more security in income.
✨Plan to Reach: Create another stream of revenue. Never ideal to just have one. Not super reliable. Think of another idea and see where it goes.

Those are just a few that I’ve worked out for this year!!🎉 I would love to see a lot of growth in myself and my business this year so it takes goal and plans to reach those goals to get there!!💪🏻

It’s TAX SEASON yalllllllll😅😭

Tax session can be a ✨bit stressful✨ as a small business owner. All of the sudden you need to categorize every. single. purchase. from the year. And yes, it’s a hassle. 😅
•
Here’s some tips on how to get through tax season as a small biz owner:
✨ Hire someone! It helps SO much. If you’re in KC and need a recommendation, I’ve got you.
✨ Go onto your online banking, download your whole year of transactions and put it into an excel or Google sheets. Categorize each item into what it was for.
✨Research what other things you can write off that you might’ve paid for out of your personal account. A percentage of your rent or mortgage, internet, utilities, car payments, insurance, the list goes ON🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
✨RECORD MILEAGE!!!! I have Mile IQ on my phone and it picks up every time I drive! I just have to categorize whether it’s personal or business and bam, another LARGE write off.
✨But seriously, hire someone to do the rest. They’ll save ya the most money 😉

Happy MLK Day! Martin Luther King Jr. truly had such a fervor for making sure all were treated with love and respect.
•
Through soooo many of his quotes you see so clearly his heart and the fire behind it. What an example. I hope to grow in my passion for people and what’s right, to be even a sliver of what MLK was and his legacy is.
•
I’d encourage you to take a moment today to remember how hard MLK had to fight. To fight for human decency. We’ve come a way, I wouldn’t say a long way as there’s still such a far way we need to go. But consider how you love all people and what that really means.

Waking up to a winter wonderland in Kansas City this morning reminded me of when we woke up to a winter wonderland on the CO retreat 😍❄️

Was the CO snow a surprise when we woke up? YUP. Was it FREEZING? 100000%. Was it 100% worth it? Yes👏🏻it👏🏻was👏🏻

I remember everyone being disappointed when it was snow covered… after we started shootings, no one was disappointed anymore 😆

Would you believe me if I told you MY wedding had no theme or style to it? 🙈
•
IT’S TRUE!!! 🤣 I (obviously) had way too many ideas on what I wanted to do that I literally could NOT decide. Sooooo we ended up eloping (for other reasons too).

The pressure of picking just one style I’d have to be happy with for the rest of my life was EXTREMELY daunting. How could I do that???

So… I didn’t. 😂 Instead, I made it my career to bring all my ideas to life. 🎉🧡 Living out my dream wedding each day I create.
