Here’s to the newest Grover Adventures!

Yep, I’ve fallen off the social media radar. Lots of changes lately. Last month we moved to Kansas City. It’s been a whirlwind. I was recruited for a job as Trauma Director. I was hesitant at first. I felt like I had to choose between photography and trauma. I realized I didn’t have to. My kids jumped at the new opportunity faster than I did lol. So here we are setting in Kansas City. This move has been good. A lot of uncertainty initially but it’s falling into place. I’m working with a great trauma team who have been so kind.

To answer the big question, yes I’ll still be doing photography…once we get settled and figure out life here. I love it too much not to. Especially with a job in trauma photography brings me joy. So spring I’ll be back at it and hopefully growing in the Kansas City area. Yes I’ll still do some sessions in the Springfield area just a limited amount.

The kids are loving it here. They’re adjusting and settling into school, hockey and figure skating. Our neighborhood is full of kids and neighborhood block parties.

Sometimes life presents opportunities you weren’t looking for or expected. Take them! You never know what it’ll bring. Make it an adventure!

Isn’t she lovely ✨✨ she wasn’t sure what she wanted for her senior photos. We shared ideas before and looked for outfit styles and this is how it turned out. I love that they trust me to use my creativity. I love that they’re open to my ideas, even if it includes walking on the rocks in the water barefoot (those are still to come). I’m a little obsessed with these!

Ok mommas it’s here…I know you’re not ready for it, I know you feel very emotional and you wonder how your baby is already a senior!!

Senior years are filled with so many emotions but also busy schedules. I am opening my schedule for 2024 senior sessions. I have one weekend left for August. I am scheduling for September and October now. I have two different options to fit your budget and help with all the details so you don’t have any extra stress.

When I do senior sessions, I like to personalize these to your senior. I always like to make sure and get the more traditional pictures that you want as a parent. But I also like to make sure to get their input as well. What makes them who they are? What are their interests? What’s their personality? Wether it’s timeless or trendy, or you’re not sure…we can chat and figure out the best plan. I hope to help you capture the essence of your senior and have meaningful senior photos for decades to come.

✨through the eyes of a child✨

As babies start exploring the world around them, they’re often mesmerized by the simple things. The bright color and texture of berries kept her mesmerized. I think they only way she’d of been happier is if she was able to get a bite of them. Sometimes it’s a good reminder for us as adults to enjoy the beauty around us.

I’ve been a little quiet on social media the last few months. If you know me you’re not surprised 😉 I’m not great at posting consistently but I’m still here. I’ve been busy in so many ways.

I’ve been looking at where I started this journey and where I want to go with it. It’s fun to look back and be able to see growth in the work I’m doing. As a trauma nurse, the results were easy to see and quick. I mean life or death didn’t wait. I thrived in those situations. This is more of a gradual process and can be frustrating. But just like when it clicks in nursing it does here too.

I’ve finally invested into a mentorship with kicks ass! (For those who don’t know me I tend to use cuss words like commas🤷🏻‍♀️). It’s challenging and encouraging to learn new skills. I’m also investing in letting a professional rebuild my website…which can I tell you how excited I am. All the things I’ve attempted and fumbled through this has been my nemesis. So excited for what’s to come out of both of these investments.

If you hung around this long, next is of course hockey and figure skating. We’ve traveled to Notre Dame, Chicago, Nashville and next to Michigan. My vehicle is getting some miles on her. Quincey spent the week in Nashville taking on new challenges and navigating wins and failures. She doesn’t stay down long and takes those failures to grow. So proud of her. Caleb has been invited to play on a AA team this summer to get experience. He too had some great games and some failures. He loves the game and cant wait for each opportunity he gets (we’ve got some amazing people in our lives that made this opportunity possible for him). Hudson decided he’s back into hockey now that soccer is done. He is fun to watch and see him develop his own skills aside from big brother.

So a big photo dump of our summer to come. And trust me there’s a bunch of sarcasm in these pictures with a lot of eye rolls. I’ve also recently found the joy of making them cringe at my humor and videos…it’s quite fun!

So…more to come and more dumb humor as you see me riding Birds carrying dresses, chasing dogs and such🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤗. All in a days work!
