One of the biggest things I care about when I’m photographing a wedding is that you actually get to be present in it.

Just being with your people, enjoying it, and taking it all in.

My approach is a mix of guiding when you need it and stepping back when you don’t, so everything feels natural and true to you.

The best moments usually happen when you’re not even thinking about the camera.

Bayview Weddings at Gallagher Farms will always be one of my favorite wedding venues in Northern Michigan.

Delaney and AJ’s wedding day here reminded me how many little things around the property make it feel so special. The ceremony overlook above West Grand Traverse Bay, the white reception tent with the checkered dance floor and bar, and the ivy-covered bridal barn surrounded by orchard trees are just a few of them.

And in the summer you’ll find hydrangeas like these blooming around the property too.

If you’re planning a wedding at Bayview, it’s such a beautiful place for a day like this.

I ordered a new double-sided flat lay mat from Olive & Oak and wanted to show it in real life in case any other photographers are considering one.

I asked the owners which linens are most popular right now and went with:
-Midnight Noir Linen
-Tuscany Grove Linen

Midnight Noir felt perfect because I’ve had so many black and white weddings lately and I wanted a deeper, moodier base for detail shots.

Tuscany Grove made sense with all the greens and mulberries trending right now. It’s even prettier in person.

The experience was honestly so fun. Personalized note, thoughtful packaging, little styling extras. It just feels intentional.

I just love a bridal bouquet like this.

There’s so much intention behind it. The colors. The textures. The meaning certain flowers might hold for you. The way your florist takes your vision and turns it into something you can actually hold.

If I’m being honest, even one beautiful bouquet can elevate the entire feel of your day and your photos.

And a little tip? If your photographer loves flat lay details, let your florist know ahead of time. Adding a few loose blooms to your overall design can make your details feel even more elevated.

Every little detail is special. I know how much thought goes into it.

A few favorites from AJ and Delaney’s overlook ceremony at Bayview Weddings at Gallagher Farms 🤍

I’ll always love how meaningful their day felt. And having their dog, Samson, as the ring bearer sitting front row during their vows just made it even more special.
