Allison + Cole 🤍

38 of their favorite people, colorful florals, private vows, a vineyard ceremony, Grandma as the flower girl, a surprise ring bearer, dinner around one long table, and one of those wedding days I genuinely didn’t want to end.

There was just something about this day. It was so intimate and beautiful. There was so much love for these two everywhere you looked.

It was extra special for me because I already knew some of the faces there, including past couples I’ve had the chance to photograph before! Getting to photograph another wedding within the same circle of friends and see familiar faces again is something I’ll never take for granted. 🤍

And can we talk about these FLORALS?! Natalie from Leelanau Plant Company absolutely killed it. She even brought extra loose florals for me to use for Allison’s details, and on top of being insanely talented, she was just the sweetest to work alongside all day.

And so much love for Black Star Farms. The vineyard, the views, the covered patio, all the beautiful little spots around the property… it was the perfect setting for these two. Meghan was incredible too and made everything run so smoothly.

Allison and Cole, thank you so much for trusting me with this day. From your engagement session at Mission Point Lighthouse last fall to your wedding day, I’ve loved getting to document this part of your story. I’m so grateful I got to be there. 🤍

A little love letter to September 🤍

I genuinely don’t know how this month went by so fast. Four weddings with four amazing couples, and somehow it all already feels like a bit of a blur in the best way.

So many beautiful moments, so many really good people, and so many days that reminded me how much I love what I do.

I’m just really, really grateful. For every couple who chose me, trusted me, welcomed me into their lives and let me be there for such an important day. It means so much to me.

September was a really good one. 🤍 Now bring on October, fall weddings, sessions, and alllll the fall colors.

From Greystone and The Peninsula Room in Traverse City, to Black Star Farms in Suttons Bay and Sunset Hill Barn in Central Lake, September took me all over Northern Michigan and I loved every second of it.

Almost one year since Erin + Andrew’s wedding, and this is still such a special day to look back on. 🤍

They were so intentional about the pieces of their day that meant the most to them, from their first look at Deer Lake, where Erin dreamed of getting married as a little girl, to celebrating with everyone they love at Lavender Hill Farm.

And right as we started their portraits, a butterfly flew across my lens and somehow, I caught it on camera. Just the sweetest little bit of magic. 🦋

I loved this day and feel so lucky that I got to be there for it all. Happy almost anniversary, Erin + Andrew! 🤍

Taylor and Christian’s sweet family 🤍 I seriously had so much fun with them! They came ready to have a good time, were open to anything, and just made the entire session so fun. I love when families show up ready to enjoy themselves and trust me with the rest because it really does make all the difference.

And I will never get over how pretty Mission Point Lighthouse is for photos. The lighthouse, all of those deep greens, and the beach all in one spot. It is seriously such a good location for a family session on Old Mission Peninsula!

Feeling extra grateful after a weekend with two weddings 🤍 The last few days have been filled with culling through both days, working on sneak peeks and reliving so many beautiful moments. There is already so much I can’t wait to share.

In the meantime, a little wedding detail tip for anyone currently planning: gather a detail box and have everything ready before your photographer arrives.

A few things you may not think to include:

• Two full copies of your invitation suite
• All three rings, including both wedding bands
• Extra stamps, wax seals or ribbon from your invitations
• Jewelry, perfume, shoes and vow books
• Any heirlooms, letters or sentimental pieces you want photographed
• Extra loose blooms or stems from your florist
• Your dress and veil, steamed and ready on nice hangers

Sunday Morning Flowers once taught me a really helpful tip for planning your detail photos: ask your florist which of your flowers will lay and photograph best. They can help choose blooms and greenery that will work beautifully with the rest of your details.

Having everything ready gives your photographer more time to create something beautiful with it, while you get to enjoy your wedding morning 🤍

TWO weddings are happening this Saturday and I seriously cannot wait!! 🤍

Dani + Jordan, I can’t believe it’s finally your turn!! I first got to photograph these two for their engagement session at Pierce Stocking, then got to see them again at their best friends’ wedding last October, and now I get to photograph THEIR wedding!! 🥹 It really is so special to me that I’ve gotten to be there for all of this, and I’m so glad you guys chose me to photograph such a big part of your lives. 🤍

I cannot wait to see you both again, see sweet Lincoln, and watch you two finally get MARRIED!! And I’m so excited to have Forever Moments Photography there with me to photograph it all!

TWO weddings are happening this Saturday and I seriously cannot wait!! 🤍

Abby + Jeriad are getting MARRIED!! I loved getting to photograph their engagement session at Esch Beach and getting to know these two better, and I’m just so excited for them that it’s finally almost here!! 🤍 Also, Jeriad’s family are award-winning pie bakers and they’re making the pies for the wedding, which is just SUCH a fun detail!

And I’m so excited to have one of my best friends, Cheleana Marie Photography, photographing their day alongside Caitlyn Marlane Photography. I trust them both so much and know Abby + Jeriad are going to be in such good hands. 🤍

Trying to pick only 20 favorites from Madison + Chase’s wedding was actually sooo hard to do! 🤍

I loved this day so, so much. Everyone was so welcoming and sweet to us, and I left feeling really grateful that I got to be a part of it.

Madison + Chase have known each other since they were kids and have been together since they were 14 + 15 🥹 One of my favorite stories from the day was something Madison’s mom, Missy, shared. Chase was friends with Madison’s brother growing up, so he had actually been at some of Madison’s birthday parties before they were ever together. Madison told her mom that if she had known back then she was going to marry him someday, she would have kept every birthday present he ever gave her. That one REALLY got me.

Honestly, I cried several times this day. Their vows, the speeches, the first dances. By the time Chase was dancing with his mom I was behind my camera fully crying 😂

Then we went out for golden hour around Caberfae, Madison hit a golf ball in her wedding dress!!, and everyone headed back inside to party in the BEST custom hats they had made for the dance floor. Including me because obviously I took one home.

Such a fun, special day for two people who have loved each other for so many years. Madison + Chase, thank you for letting me be a part of it 🤍
