KimBerly E. Photography Montana, Kalispell, Whitefish, Bigfork, Newborn, Maternity, Family & Children Photographer Welcome to KimBerly E. Photography, I am so happy that you are here!

It is no secret that I love photographing babies, they are so tiny and perfect how could I not? Photography IS my heart condition - I LOVE capturing moments. My goal is to make that beautiful pregnant mama feel as beautiful as I see her and show her what I see. My goal is to capture that perfectly imperfect family moment that makes the family smile and feel the love every time they see that image

on their walls. My goal is to capture your child's personality their essence on camera, so that for years to come looking at those portraits brings you right back to that time. My goal is to capture feelings, emotions, life, love. Thank you for taking the time to look through my site. I look forward to hearing from you.

Why hiring a professional newborn photographer matters 🩷

I wanted to take a minute to talk about something that’s really important to me: newborn photography safety.

When you trust someone to handle and pose your brand-new baby, experience and training matter so much. Professional newborn photographers are trained to work safely with little ones and understand how to create those adorable, curled-up poses without ever putting your baby at risk. Many of those “bucket” or “bowl” shots you see are actually composites, meaning several images are carefully blended together to create the illusion.

A professional photographer should also have insurance. We all hope it’s never needed, but it’s an important part of running a safe and responsible business. Don’t ever be afraid to ask about a photographer’s training or insurance. Those questions are absolutely okay, and you deserve that peace of mind.

Yes, newborn photographers often charge more, and there’s a reason for that. You’re not just paying for photos. You’re investing in someone who knows how to safely handle your baby, manage the environment, and create lasting art with care and skill.

I completely understand that things are tight right now and photography can feel like luxury that is not attainable. Many professionals (myself included) offer payment options or flexible plans to help make it possible, because those early days are so special and go by so fast.

If professional photos aren’t in the budget right now, that’s okay too. I’m planning to share another post soon, or maybe a video, with some tips for taking safe, simple newborn photos at home. I’m not saying you need to hire me, but I do want you to know your baby’s safety always comes first.

If you ever have questions or just want to chat about newborn safety or photography, my messages are always open. 💕

Generations of love, all in one frame. 🖤

This isn’t mom or dad holding this sweet little one… these are the hands of grandparents. The same hands that raised babies of their own, now cradling the next generation. There’s something so powerful and tender about seeing life come full circle like this—it gives me goosebumps every time I capture it.

As a mama myself, I know how quickly these newborn days pass. They’re tiny for what feels like a blink, and those first snuggles, the way their whole body curls up so small, the softest little breaths—it’s something you’ll never want to forget. That’s why these sessions mean so much. They freeze time in a way our hearts can hold onto forever.

A few little things I’ve learned over the years that make newborn sessions go beautifully:
✨ The sweet spot for photos is usually within the first 5–14 days. Babies are still sleepy and love to curl up.
✨ Sessions are never rushed. We pause for feeds, snuggles, and diaper changes—whatever baby needs comes first.
✨ Warmth and comfort are key. A cozy baby is a happy baby.
✨ Most of all, just relax and enjoy the moment. These are the memories you’ll treasure, the ones that tell your family’s story.

If you’re expecting or know someone who is, let’s connect. I’d love to help you preserve these fleeting newborn moments in the most tender and timeless way. 💛

✨ Down the rabbit hole we go… ✨

This little birthday girl celebrated her very first trip around the sun with a whimsical Alice in ONE-derland cake smash. Playing cards, roses, tea party vibes, and one seriously sweet smile!

Two weeks old and already the sweetest little soul.

Baby Mason came in with a full head of red hair and completely melted my heart. He was calm, cozy, and so content in his parents’ arms. These early days are some of my favorites to photograph — quiet, full of love, and gone way too fast.

There’s something so special about capturing a family in this brand-new chapter. All the snuggles, soft stretches, and sleepy little smiles. This is where the story begins.

If you’re expecting, now is the perfect time to reach out. I book a few months ahead and would love to help you freeze these first moments in time.

Did your baby surprise you with a full head of hair or come out totally bald? I love hearing those stories.

Happy Thursday!
There’s nothing like a squishy newborn smile and a tiny teddy to brighten your day!

Thinking about trying your own baby photos at home? Here are a few fun how-to tips:
1. Warm it up – Babies love a toasty space. A space heater (used safely!) or a warm room does wonders.
2. Stick to solids – A simple, solid-colored blanket (like this cozy mustard tone) helps keep the focus on baby.
3. Tiny props, big impact – A mini teddy or felted animal adds just the right touch without being overwhelming.
4. Use natural light – Soft light from a window is your best friend. Skip the flash!
5. Keep it simple – Minimal setups make those sleepy smiles and tiny features shine.

Can’t get enough of those baby grins? Me neither.

Did You Know?
One of the most common questions I get from both newborn and family clients is: “What if my baby or kids don’t cooperate?”

Here’s the truth: That’s totally okay.

Little ones (and even big ones) are unpredictable, and that’s part of the magic. My sessions are built with flexibility, patience, and comfort in mind. Whether we’re capturing a newborn yawn or a toddler mid-giggle, it’s all part of telling your family’s unique story.

There’s no pressure for perfection. Just real moments, real connection, and a whole lot of love.

So breathe easy. I’ve got you.
