It's been almost a year since I took on my last professional photo session but wow, it was such a year of intense growth. During that time I graduated from college and I'm now working towards a masters in mental health. However, despite the craziness of school, I continued to reflect on my photography as an art and realized that photos have so much potential for healing and documenting God's hand in our life.

With that in mind, I have decided to shift gears of my photography away from the traditional mill of photo taking and I am working on developing a studio which primarily focuses on healing and encouraging women. I'm also in the middle of developing a huge eBook for moms who want to learn to take photos of their own family! So, bear with me as I shift my brand a bit these next few weeks to reflect my new mission of growth. 🌱 (p.s. if you're in the JB MDL area, I may call for a few brave ladies who are willing to have their photos taken and stories shared).

Thank you so much to all of you who have been showing our family so much love and support as we navigate our "new normal" with my husband's health issues. 🤍🤍🤍 I'd be lying if I said it hasn't been a difficult road but we are making it through and I appreciated the patience while I took a mental break from my business responsibilities. I'm still not back to fully running Where Love Blooms as a photography business but I've decided that I truly do enjoy taking photos as a hobby so I'm trying to find a good middle ground. 😄
Anywho, I'm realizing that there's a ton of beautiful photos I haven't shared with you all yet so here's one of them! She was absolutely glowing and such a joy to work with. 😍

Here's a photographer tip for summer family selfies! 📸☀️

When Yvette was little I desperately wanted professional family photos taken every year but unfortunately knew it was an investment I could not make. 😭 I didn't let this stop me from having family photos, instead I learned a few tricks to help transform my photos from the usual awkward "family selfie/tourist" to something I'd like on my walls.
Here's my trick for getting "all" the photos I'd want. ✨CAPTURE✨ (1)general poses, (2)zoomed in view, (3)wide angle view, (4)scene setting, and (5)one artistic detail.
Thank you SO much to the sweet couple that spent the evening with me at the beach to capture these photos! I'm so in love with how they turned out; it feels like they came out of a story. 🤍🤍🤍

FALL 2022 SESSIONS ANNOUCEMENT! 🍂
(Heads up, if this post is pinned to the top then that means it's still the current situation. 🤍)

Recently a close family member has developed a severe health issue which means I am not able to take on the workload I had planned on for the fall season. At this moment I am only accepting 3-4 families a month to photograph so that I can still dedicate my off-time energy to my family. I am beginning to book into September & October but will update this post when that changes.

Currently 👉office hours👈 are from 6am-9am & 7pm-9pm on week days BUT this will not be constant as we dive further into this illness. I'll do my best to get back to each of you ASAP! 🥰 I appreciate everyone's patience as we work out this matter and look forward to meeting you all!

Before & after pics of a selfie shoot I did yesterday at base housing; I was feeling like I wanted to get a little creative with my new client gown! As a new photographer I am constantly on the lookout for how I can turn a dead space into something magical & this turned out exactly like how I envisioned. 😍

I'd say Vander is finally starting to get a grip on this whole "husband of a photographer so you gotta help take all the selfies" because he actually took an amazing photo. 🤌🏻
