Weddings are hard work!! You’re juggling family dynamics and friends and expectations and inevitably things will go at least a little wrong — and listen, I am not about to yuck anybody’s yum, because my wedding was amazing and I have seen and attended some FANTASTIC big, traditional weddings. But there is something about the flow state that happens mid elopement, where you’re being toured around a new place, honked at by passers by, eating cake with a fork on a rock in your best dress, that just speaks to me. Forever honored to be a part of such intimate, teeny tiny weddings.
My husband Chance officiated J&P’s beautiful ceremony in front of their immediate families at their rental in Columbia Falls ( by Kathy Shaffer Price 💙❤️) and then the four of us headed up into the mountains to show them Glacier for the first time. I baked them a cake and covered its flaws in fresh orchids. Chance drove and told them about all of the local flowers and trees, pointed out peaks, held the reflector, and scanned for new photo spots I wouldn’t have thought of on my own.
It might feel a little strange to let two perfect strangers drive you around the secluded wilderness together on your most special day (wow, extra so after writing that sentence out) and certainly not for everyone — but for the couple that wants to be able to relax a little, take in scenery, cheers brut rose on the edge of a massive cliff — it’s perfect. 🌄💒👰🏻♀️ !!!
