Took advantage of some time after work the other night and again tonight when my friend Kelly messaged...always happy to get in a few clicks on a beautiful night. You have to love Fall in Michigan. Some of these were taken at Twin Lakes, some were taken at Asylum Lake.

Just what I needed after this week...an evening with one of my best friends playing in a field of my very favorite flowers. Funny that yellow is one of my least favorite colors yet I love these flowers SO much! You can't help but be at least a little happy when you see sunflowers. :)

When your boyfriend suggests a road trip and to bring your camera, you don't say "no." :) We made it through most of dinner with sunshine but finished with dark skies and a thunderstorm. I got a little wet but it didn't stop me from playing in the flowers. If you're ever in Colon, be sure to stop and see the great folks at River Lake Inn Restaurant, Gardens and Trails. Great food and beautiful gardens to wander through. Found a cool old car on the way home too!

It's been a few weeks since I've been to the arb due to all of the rain. The arb has something new blooming all the time it seems but not too much at the moment. Some consistent sunshine and warmer temps would help. The wildlife seemed happy though. :)

Not my favorite thing to photograph...you know me, I'm all about nature and wildlife. But the photography group I belong to had an outing last night so I stepped outside my comfort zone. The rain cut our time short...next time I'd like to spend some time at the downtown churches. They're truly beautiful.

What a fun afternoon watching this ham while he took his bath. I've never seen such a playful swan. After a rough few weeks, this was so good for my soul.
