Some sessions just hit a little differently. ❤️

I have watched Emma grow from a little girl into the incredible woman she is today. She has always been hardworking, determined, and someone who goes after her goals. Seeing her find someone who matches her energy, ambition, and heart has been such a joy to witness.

Vincent fits so naturally into her life that it feels like he has always been there. These two have been together since college, building a life and future together one step at a time.

I always knew this chapter would come someday—I just didn’t know when. When Emma asked me to photograph her wedding, I was truly honored. There is something incredibly special about being trusted to capture such an important day for people who mean so much to you.

We spent the evening wandering around Asylum Lake, talking about wedding plans, reminiscing, and capturing this exciting season of life. Their love is effortless, genuine, and full of laughter—my favorite kind.

Allison & Kevin | The Cut Above Wedding | West Michigan Wedding Photographer
Allison and Kevin had a vision for their wedding day.
They wanted all of their closest family and friends gathered together to witness their vows and celebrate the start of their marriage. Most importantly, they dreamed of being married outside at The Cut Above. With its beautiful views and stunning outdoor ceremony space, it was the perfect setting for the wedding day they had been planning.
The weather, however, had a different idea.
As the forecast continued to change throughout the day, there were moments of uncertainty, plenty of checking weather apps, and more than a few prayers that the rain would hold off. Like many couples planning an outdoor wedding in Michigan, Allison and Kevin had to decide whether to stick with their original vision or move their ceremony indoors.
In the end, they chose to trust their hearts and move forward with the outdoor ceremony they had always imagined.
And it was absolutely perfect.
One of my favorite moments of the day was Allison's first look. It was one of those emotional moments that reminds me exactly why I love what I do. There were tears, smiles, and genuine excitement for the day ahead. Watching it unfold even made me think back to my own wedding day and the moments I wish I had captured. It was a beautiful reminder of how important these memories become over time.
As the ceremony began at The Cut Above, surrounded by the people who love them most, it became clear that the weather was just a small part of their story. The focus was exactly where it should have been—on two people committing their lives to one another.
After the ceremony, the celebration continued with an evening full of laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories. Their guests packed the dance floor and celebrated alongside them well into the night.
The rain may have tried to change the plans, but it never changed what mattered most.
Allison and Kevin's wedding day was filled with love, joy, and the people who mean the most to them. It was a privilege to witness and capture every moment.
Congratulations, Allison and Kevin. I hope your marriage is filled with as much happiness, laughter, and love as your wedding day. Wishing you both a lifetime of beautiful adventures together.
