July 18th marked the beginning of forever for Samantha and Jonny, and the end of two years of planning together for Samantha and me!
They were married at Notre Dame, Jonny’s alma mater, where the two of them first met while Samantha was finishing her senior year at Saint Mary’s. Their love story has taken them from South Bend all the way to Seattle, where they planned their wedding from across the country.
I’ll never forget the first time Samantha reached out to me in 2024. She said, “You are my photographer!” From that moment on, I knew this day was going to be something special.
Just before she walked down the aisle, the weight of the moment hit her. She got teary-eyed as she realized she was about to marry her best friend. Two years of planning had all led to the moment those Basilica doors opened and she stepped through them in her Monique Lhuillier gown.
And then there was Jonny’s reaction.
As you can see in these photos, seeing his bride for the first time was one of the sweetest moments I’ve ever had the privilege of witnessing. In Samantha’s words, “We’ve both waited for this moment for so long. The ‘I Do’ I’m about to say will be the easiest thing I ever do.”
This is one of those wedding days that takes a few days to fully sink in. Every detail, every moment, every emotion was so intentional. Here are a few (okay… a lot) of my favorite images from Samantha and Jonny’s Notre Dame wedding day.
