Traveling the wilder roads of life to capture the beauty and uniqueness of the world around us. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I like taking them.

A native of the Hoosier state (Indiana that is) but I call Michigan home. I've always been a nature girl and farming has been in our family since before we crossed the pond. Summers were spent on my grandparent's farm with my cousins and has some of my best memories. My love for travel, exploring , and photography has led me to create this page and start my photography business.

It's been a few years since I've taken this photo, but I think of this house every now and then. This one is just outside South Haven. Very close to one of the main roads tourists and beach goers take on their way in and out of town. When I was there ivy was just starting to climb its walls and the roof starting to cave in. I wonder how it is doing now. Is it completely hidden by the vines? Hidden from the road by tall vegetation and shrubs? Is it even still standing? The beach of Lake Michigan is calling me so hopefully I'll find it once again.

I've been finding a lot of great barns lately. Especially ones with gorgeous stonework. This is one of my new favorites. I just love a good cupola. And the two metal (?) horse heads on the doors really makes this one stand out. Plus, a horse silhouette on the background barn 😍

Built in 1880, these owners sure have taken really great care of their property.

It was cool and cloudy out, but this barn and silo brightened my day. What a lovely sight to see while traveling the country roads of this beautiful state.

Spring is finally in full bloom in northern, lower Michigan. The ground was still pretty cold when I was up there a week ago. The spring flowers were just beginning to show. But soon the fields will be humming with the sounds of tractors spreading seeds for this year's crops.

An old shack and the lilac bush.

Seeing these together makes me wonder if the bush was there way back when this place was occupied. I will never know but I like to think that it was.

The start of springtime in northern, lower Michigan. The flowers were just starting to come up from the cool soil, the trees just starting to bloom, and activity at the farms were just starting to show.

Little Pink House

I was driving through a small town in southern Michigan when I saw this pink down a residential street. All the other houses where the standard home we see in this area. Except this one. A stucco like building that reminds me of the homes in the southwest. I love finds like this. So unexpected it makes you wonder about its story and how it came to be in a small Michigan town.
