It was blue hour at Holualoa Inn.

I love how this frame holds layers

The burst of flowers and ti leaf in the foreground

The glowing pavilion at the center

And the trees, tall, grounding, reaching for the sky finally cracking open

There’s a certain kind of magic that only reveals itself after the rain

For me, this photo isn’t just about what’s was seen. It’s about the shift in energy

These are the in between hours I always hope to catch

I don’t usually stop and stare at my own images for too long… but this one keeps pulling me back.

Maybe it’s because I remember how the air felt in this exact moment, heavy from a day of rain, cool against my skin, the unmistakable scent of earth and salt after a storm. 🌿🌊

The most beautiful part of your wedding day is not the backdrop, the makeup, the flowers, or even the vows…it’s the version of you who shows up open hearted, present, and true. That self becomes an heirloom you’ll return to again and again.

Life lately has been teaching me a lot about being human.

About how fragile and unpredictable things can feel, and how even in the messiest moments, gratitude has a way of sneaking in and softening the edges.

I got into a car accident a few months ago.

My body is mostly okay, just a neck that tightens up sometimes—but what I didn’t expect was how much it would shake my confidence. The nightmares after. The anxiety of getting back on the road. The weight of an ER bill that makes you feel like you can’t exhale.

For a while I didn’t trust myself to even drive to the grocery store, let alone with someone I love in the passenger seat.

But even with all that, I keep coming back to gratitude.

Gratitude that I was alone in the car that night.

Gratitude that my sister now has a safer car for her ohana.

Gratitude for the people in my life who show up and remind me that support isn’t something you have to earn—it’s just there, steady and unconditional.

Gratitude for the fact that I still get to create, to witness, to hold people’s most sacred moments in my hands. That never stops being an honor.

This season hasn’t been easy, but I don’t want it to be framed as a tragedy either. It’s more of a mirror. A reminder that we can lose confidence and still rebuild it. That we can feel fear and still choose to keep going. That we can carry heaviness while also noticing the small, ordinary joys that keep us grounded.

So here I am🌺still me, still creating, still grateful. Maybe even more grateful than before.

That feeling when you’re so in love you want to carry it everywhere you go. 🎞️🌺🤍

These two didn’t leave their wedding celebration behind when the day ended, they packed it in their suitcases, slipped it into their carry-ons, and brought it all the way to Oʻahu with them.

Wedding attire on a honeymoon? Yes, please. Because love isn’t meant to be celebrated once, it’s meant to spill over into every chapter.

We carved out 2.5 hours to wander.. ridges with the wind tangled in their hair, the ocean roaring back their vows, the softness of Secret Island wrapping around them like a secret kept just for the two of them.

No rush, no checklist, no pretending. Just that post-wedding glow, expanded into something spacious and free.

There’s something I love about photos after the “big day.” The pressure melts. The performance is gone. What’s left is two people who already said yes, already proved it to themselves, and now get to just be in it.

Every laugh, every salty kiss, every barefoot step feels lighter—like memory in its purest form.

I want you to know! You don’t need a reason, or a rulebook, or a guest list to justify photos like this.

Honeymoon, anniversary, random Tuesday in your favorite place… your love deserves to be documented in the wild, in the mundane, in all the places that feel like home.

Because love isn’t just one day. It’s this ongoing, ordinary-extraordinary magic. And it deserves to be remembered that way. 🌿🌊

The images that 98% of wedding couples say they value over anything else… 👆🏼

I’ve been asking couples this question for 5 years, and the answer always surprises them at first.

When you’re planning your wedding, you’re thinking about the dress, the flowers, the perfect sunset shots. But three years later? Five years later?

It’s the candid moment you finally met his sister and love her just as much. It’s your college friends losing it on the dance floor. It’s your grandpa tearing up during your vows. It’s your best friend in the entire world holding up their tiny human like Simba.

The people who showed up for YOU.

Your wedding gallery isn’t just documentation of a day—it’s proof of love. Not just yours, but everyone who traveled across oceans, rearranged schedules, and celebrated your story.

And sometimes family flies 6,000 miles just to watch you say “I do.”

✨ Tell me in the comments: What moment from a wedding (yours or someone else’s) made you cry happy tears?

I’m here for ALL the feels today 🤍

Planning your Big Island celebration? I have limited availability and would love to capture your ‘ohana moments. Send me a note 💌

The first thing you notice is the rain. It’s soft, steady, almost like the island whispering its blessing over them. At Mauna Lani Auberge Resorts, the night had already been full of laughter and light, but when the sky opened up, something shifted. The champagne in their hands caught the glow, and suddenly it felt like the celebration belonged to both earth and sky.

I’ve always loved when Hawai’i reminds us that shes alive — that your wedding isn’t happening in a bubble, but in the middle of something wilder and bigger than any plan. Out on the Big Island, a drizzle can feel like confetti, and a storm can turn into the backdrop for the best story you’ll ever tell.

Some say rain on your wedding day is luck. I think it’s just honesty. The kind that washes away expectation and leaves you with what matters most — holding onto each other, raising a glass, being fully here.

And maybe that’s the real beauty of a Mauna Lani wedding: it doesn’t hide from the unpredictable. It welcomes it. It lets the day be whatever it wants to be, and somehow, it’s always more beautiful that way.

Because in the end, it’s not perfection that lasts — its presence. It’s the little moments that remind you how alive it all felt. 🌧️🥂

As a hawaii wedding photographer im lucky enough to get to see some of the most stunning pockets of these islands and this earth.

This pathway at Mauna Lanai Auberge and the way it swept R + B into their wedding ceremony. Maybe you just see a simple image or another beautiful wedding couple.

But—

Whenever I go somewhere new or just somewhere I really enjoy and depending on the moment— I’ll do a quick senses inventory/meditation.

What all am I seeing?
What can I smell?
What different noises can I point out?
What do I feel physically and emotionally?

Put yourself in this photo

Imagine within the last 30 minutes you have just seen your fiancé for the first time on your wedding day. Now you’re hand in hand walking into your ceremony where ALL of your people wait to hold space for you.

The birds are singing their melodies

You can see all of the vast shades of green and vibrant tropical colors

The air smells like fresh grass, rain and salty ocean mist

You feel overwhelmed with all of the LOVE and gratitude.. and honestly like a badass

I think this is a beautiful moment that can get overlooked but holds so much special energy

At Mauna Lani Auberge Resorts, the story of a wedding isn’t just written in portraits of the couple — it lives in the people who gather to celebrate. The way your best friend throws their head back laughing. The tears on your mom’s cheek during the vows. The quiet joy of two families becoming one.

These moments often slip by unnoticed in the rush of the day, but when you look back, they’re the photographs that anchor everything. They’re the connective tissue of your wedding story, proof that it wasn’t just about two people, but about the community that shaped you and showed up to surround you with love.

That’s why documenting guests is just as important as documenting the ceremony, the portraits, or the landscape of Hawai’i itself. Because years from now, you won’t just want to remember what the Mauna Lani coastline looked like at sunset, you’ll want to remember who was standing there beside you, and how it felt to have them in your world.

These aren’t filler images. They’re legacy. They remind you of who was there, how it felt, and the unspoken magic of bringing your people to a place as timeless as Hawai’i to witness your beginning.

So while the details and the views will always take your breath away, it’s the faces of your people that will make your gallery feel alive and make your wedding day unforgettable in every sense. 🎞️
