🤍 WEDDING TIPS FOR THE BRIDE WHO IS A PEOPLE PLEASER

1. You Are Allowed To Say No.
Just because someone is disappointed by your decision doesn’t mean you made the wrong decision.

2. Your Wedding Is Not Family Therapy.
You don’t have to use your wedding day to repair relationships, keep the peace or make everyone happy. You are getting married—not hosting a family intervention.

3. Stop Explaining Yourself.
You don’t owe everyone a detailed explanation for every wedding decision.
“That’s what we’ve decided” is a complete sentence.

4. Decide Your Non-Negotiables BEFORE You Tell Your Family.
Sit down with your fiancé and decide what matters most to you two. Then communicate those decisions as a united front.

5. You Don’t Have To Give Everyone Access To You.
If certain people make you anxious or overwhelmed, it’s okay to limit their access to you while you’re getting ready. Your wedding morning should feel safe, not chaotic.

6. Choose Your People Carefully.
Surround yourself with people who regulate you—not people who require you to regulate them.
Your getting-ready room should be filled with people who make you breathe easier.

7. You Can Change Traditional Wedding Rules.
Don’t want a receiving line? Skip it.
Don’t want to dance with someone? Don’t.
Don’t want to invite someone? You don’t have to.
Don’t want everyone watching you get ready? Close the door.

8. Give Someone Else the Job of Protecting Your Peace.
If you know you’ll struggle to say no on your wedding day, designate a trusted person to be your buffer. Let them handle questions, interruptions and boundary-pushing so you don’t have to.

9. Your Wedding Day Doesn’t Belong To Everyone Who Helped Pay For It.
Gratitude and ownership are two different things. Someone contributing financially doesn’t automatically mean they get to control every decision.

10. If You’re Triggered, You Don’t Have To Push Through.
Take a minute. Step outside. Breathe. Cry if you need to. Get away from the crowd. You are allowed to have feelings on your wedding day, no matter what they are.
