Beautiful couple at BW!
A + J had the most natural sweet sexy love for one another. It was such a joy to be part of. They were styled from head to toe. They stayed at the Hilton downtown and continued to BW where they had a tented elegant wedding. They hired a team to design their reception day. It was stunning.

YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE BEAUTIFUL. 🤍

There’s a big difference between posing and prompting—and it’s one of the reasons I approach wedding photography the way I do.

Posing is when I carefully direct you into a specific position:
“Put your hand here. Turn your face this way. Look at me.”

There’s absolutely a place for that. Sometimes we want the perfectly composed, editorial image—the one that looks like it belongs on the cover of a magazine. ✨

But prompting is different.

Instead of telling you exactly how to look, I might say:

“Walk toward each other and whisper something ridiculous in their ear.”

“Hold her close and take a deep breath.”

“Tell him what you’re most excited about for your marriage.”

“Dance together like nobody is watching.”

And then I watch.

Because that’s where the magic happens.

The laugh you didn’t plan.

The way he pulls you a little closer.

The look you give each other when you forget I’m even there.

Your veil blowing across your face.

Your dad trying not to cry.

Your bridesmaids losing their minds on the dance floor.

Those are the photographs that tell me what your wedding actually felt like.

And then there are the true candids—the moments I don’t create or prompt at all. I simply notice them, anticipate them, and capture them before they disappear.

That’s the balance I’m after.

Beautifully composed portraits.
Editorial images.
Intentional posing.
Natural prompts.
Real, unscripted moments.

Because I don’t want your gallery to be a collection of photographs where everyone is simply looking perfect.

I want it to be a collection of photographs where you can look back 20 years from now and say:

“Oh my gosh. I remember exactly how that felt.”

Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot.

It’s your life happening in real time.

My job is to create art from it without taking you out of it. 🤍

Today was all about celebrating the women behind the magic. 🤍 We spent the day creating fresh branding imagery for the incredible LEP team, and let me just say… these ladies are EVERYTHING.

They’re the kind of planners who don’t just coordinate a wedding day — they create an experience. They think through the details, anticipate the needs, calm the chaos, and somehow make the entire process feel effortless.

And as a photographer, I can tell you: having an incredible planning team makes ALL the difference. When the details are handled, the timeline is intentional, and everyone knows the plan, couples get to actually be present in their day — and that’s when the magic happens.

Knowing lighting like the back of my hand came in handy with this couples wedding.

They were late, which is totally the norm for their culture. But, then, the pastors also basically preached a sermon at their wedding. 2 pastors all the way until dark. Like past dusk.

So, we flipped the script! After the ceremony we went straight into bride & groom photos, and did family and bridal party indoors in front of a fireplace at the reception.

If we had not done that, if we would’ve followed the original plan to do bridal party and family after the ceremony, this couple would not have had photos. Or they would’ve been in the complete dark.

This is where lighting comes in handy. Knowing what you can do and what you need to do is gold.
