As summer winds down, I just want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who made this season so beautiful. 🥹🤍

Thank you for trusting me with your weddings, families, engagements, elopements, shows, milestones, and all the little moments in between. I’ve had such an incredible summer behind my camera, writing and being apart of ceremonies and I’m so grateful for every single one of you who invited me to be a part of your story.

✨ LET’S TALK WEDDING TRADITIONS: THE OATHING STONE ✨

One of my favorite parts of writing and helping coordinate weddings and elopements is getting to incorporate traditions that make a ceremony feel personal, meaningful, and completely yours. There are SO many beautiful ways to do this from handfasting to ring warming, unity ceremonies, and today’s tradition: the Oathing Stone. 🪨🤍

The Oathing Stone is a Scottish and Celtic-inspired wedding ritual centered around one simple idea: putting your promises in stone.

During the ceremony, the couple holds or places their hands on a meaningful stone while exchanging their vows. The stone becomes a physical representation of the promises they are making; something solid, lasting, and grounded.

Traditionally, stones and the natural world held deep symbolic meaning, making this ritual especially beautiful for couples who feel connected to nature, their heritage, or the idea of carrying something tangible with them throughout their marriage.

And the best part? You can make it your own!

🌿 Choose a stone from a meaningful place or day of at the location you are getting married
✨ Have one engraved with your names or wedding date
🌊 Incorporate water, especially if you’re having an outdoor ceremony
🤍 Use a family stone that has been passed down
🪨 Have each partner hold the stone while making their vows
💙have everyone present at you ceremony hold a stone of their own
🌎 Keep the stone somewhere meaningful in your home after the wedding

Your ceremony doesn't have to look like anyone else's.

Whether you're eloping on a rocky coastline, getting married in the forest, standing beside a glacier, or celebrating surrounded by everyone you love, traditions can be adapted to tell your story.
