Location scouting the Juneau seawalk for a surprise proposal photoshoot and honestly this spot never gets old. Tahku the whale is cool and all, but the wires of the channel from the seawalk are what really shines here.

If you’re planning a surprise proposal in Juneau and want someone who knows all the hidden gems spots in town, that’s exactly what I do! Send me a DM.

August in Alaska is still fully summer, just a little softer around the edges. The fireweed goes to seed, turning the bright pink blooms into wispy white filaments that are honestly one of my favorite things to photograph all year. Fog rolls through in the mornings, and sunsets start to get hazier. The light gets golden earlier in the evening, so you’re not waiting until 10pm for that warm glow. One practical thing worth knowing: by mid-August the salmon are spawning and bear activity near beaches goes up. I steer August couples toward the glaciers and mountains instead. August is underrated for eloping in Alaska. My books are still open! Click the link in my bio!
