Watching the snow melt away and dreaming of our next road trip…

Do you ever intend to plan a trip and then all of a sudden realize you’ve planned nothing and suddenly you’re not going anywhere? 😂 Well, we did! Originally we had planned to take a 2-week roadtrip in September with Bondi through Utah and Montana. Well now its June and we haven’t laid out a single thing for it and it’s looking more and more likely that said trip might not happen. It makes me sad but also might be for the best. We quickly started to see our vacation days dwindling with all the wedding and long weekend birthday celebrations this year. I’m definitely hoping we can maybe break our original roadtrip plan up into smaller more local trips. Maybe do some more camping or visit places in California we’ve never seen.

Reynisfjara is easily the most popular beach in Iceland. It’s characterized by black volcanic sand, unique rock formations, and harsh waters.

Lining the coastline are these infamous basalt columns, some towering over 200 ft! These columns are the result of rapid cooling magnesium-rich basalt lava and can be found in numerous areas across the country.

A word of caution though when visiting Reynisfjara — the ocean is unpredictable! It’s strongly advised that visitors do not swim at this beach or even walk too closely along the shoreline. Sudden strong currents and shore breaks occur which have taken out unsuspecting visitors on multiple occasions. So stay alert!

Just been craving another wild adventure…

Adulthood feels like an oxymoron. You finally make money to pay for the things you want to do, but then you never seem to have enough time to do all those things! But you can’t just quite either because then you could no longer avoid those things! I just want to travel! Is that so much to ask?! 😂

I guess for now, I’ll just relive some of my favorite memories from the travels I’m thankful to have experienced. Like this incredible hike in Iceland for example! I’ve still got so many photos from this trip I haven’t even come close to editing yet. Should we share more of them?

• My full name is Alexandra, but I’ve always gone by Alex
• I’m 30 years old and live in San Diego, California
• I played soccer competitively from the age of 5 up until college
• I’m a CPA and started my career in public accounting, but now work in Best Buy’s Finance/Accounting department
• I’ve always loved to sing and used to write my own song lyrics just for fun
• I didn’t discover my passion for photography until I moved to Australia in 2018
• My husband and I are high school sweethearts and have been together over 12 years
• I built my own electric guitar in a woodshop class in high school

Happy National Dog Mom Day!

So thankful to experience these new adventures with Bondi by my side. I absolutely love his eagerness to explore the world with us and try new things! And I can’t wait to see what else is in store for our family!

So here’s a toast to all the memories made with our pups and to many more to come!

Who’s the primary photographer in your household?

I’m sure it comes as no surprise that in our home it’s me! 🙋🏽‍♀️ Of course that tends to mean I often get far less photos of myself than Conor and Bondi get. I can’t really blame them given I have a photography business haha but I’ve been working on getting better about asking Conor to take more pictures of me. Sure, they’re not always what I envision or how I would take the photo, but that’s just because he’s not a photographer! But the best thing I’ve learned is to basically set the photo up as best you can before handing off the camera. That doesn’t just mean adjusting for lighting, it’s also angle, zoom range, distance, even focus sometimes! I’ll even set up a test shot using him as the subject to show how I want it to look! Sometimes the result isn’t always what you expect, which goes for any photographer, but I’ve definitely found it’s made a difference!

Welcome to .Paris.Pack!

We did it! We’ve officially changed our handle! If you’ve been with us since the beginning you’ll know this is the second, and almost certainly the last time we’ll do this!

This account has evolved so much since it started. It started as your basic dog Instagram as . Then I tried to pivot towards a dog photography focus with . Lately I haven’t felt as invested, like I’ve boxed myself into a niche I wasn’t all that excited or motivated to post about. I’ve been tired of feeling like I’m struggling with coming up with interesting dog related captions and exclusively dog content, that I wanted to be able to broaden our scope a little bit. To feature more of myself, my husband, and of course Bondi! All while giving our family room to grow! So yes, don’t worry you can still expect to see A LOT of Bondi! Just expect to see more of us as we capture our everyday lifestyle and adventures with him!

I’ve never seen him so in his element…

Last week was the longest we’ve spent in serious snow with Bondi. Sure he’s been in the snow before, but nothing like this! He looked as if he was in heaven. It warmed my heart to see how incredibly happy he was because it emulated exactly how I feel every time I’m in Mammoth. Safe to say, we’re both aching to go back. Can’t wait to share more of this trip! 🏔️

So I’m thinking about changing our IG handle…

The goal here is to broaden the scope of this account a bit to adapt to the growth of our family. Before you ask, no I’m not pregnant! However, my husband and I have contemplated getting another dog and have been thinking about kids. In preparation for some potential change in our lives, I want to refocus this account around dog-friendly adventures and our everyday family life. My goal is to capture everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary in our lives! Don’t worry, Bondi will still be a prominent feature! I simply want to be more intentional about what I post rather than just sharing random photos of Bondi.

That said, since our last name is Paris, I’m thinking of changing it to The Paris Pack. Sadly the “theparispack” is already taken, so I’m contemplating punctuation variations:paris.packparispack
