Dedicated to our teachers and staff at PLP ~~~
When the last child has gone home,
when the tiny chairs are pushed back in place,
when the last little handprint has been wiped from the table
and the final light in the classroom fades into darkness…
Take a deep breath.
Go home knowing that what you did today mattered.
You were more than a teacher today.
You were a safe place.
A comforter of tears.
A singer of songs.
A zipper of jackets.
A reader of stories.
A fixer of broken crayons and broken hearts.
You tied shoes, wiped noses, calmed fears, and celebrated tiny victories that the world may never fully see.
You gave hugs when they were needed most.
You spoke kindness into little hearts that are still learning who they are.
Because of you, children felt loved.
Because of you, they felt safe.
Because of you, they laughed, learned, explored, and grew.
And though the days are long, and the work is often exhausting, never forget this:
The fingerprints you leave on these little lives will remain long after the paint has washed away from their hands.
So when the last clock is punched, the last report is turned in, and the building finally falls silent, go home to your families knowing this—
You did good work today.
Holy work.
Heart work.
You poured love into children who will carry pieces of you with them forever.
Job well done, teachers.
The world is better because of the care you give so freely every single day.
