Zoom in to see the Orion Nebula! I only have 120mm zoom at the moment, but I’m beyond impressed how well this came out for my first tracked & stacked photo. I can’t thank enough for showing me the technique of using a star tracker. To say I’m hooked would be an understatement. Out of all my time inside the park at night, this was by far the darkest. All the weather conditions lined up perfectly for us. I’ve herd of places being so dark you can see nebulas with the naked eye. This past Tuesday night confirmed it. We could actually see the slight hint of red coming off of Orion’s Sword. The Orionids Meteor Shower also didn’t disappoint since we were already looking towards Orion. This night has inspired me to try photoing deep space even more in the future. I’ve got a few new pieces of equipment on my bucket list now. Only time will tell what happens next! ⏳

It was such an amazing time these past 2 days hanging out at the campus! and I can’t thank & enough for presenting us with the opportunity to be guest speakers for the department. Seeing how excited and engaged all the students were during our presentation was awesome! The hospitality allowing us to stay at the Delano house made us feel right at home. The campus is so massive, unique and special. All the kids looked incredibly happy to be attending this school. I’ve never seen a school like this that allows the kids to express their creativity so much without the social pressure you would normally see in other schools. Our goal was to create a presentation that would wow and inspire the students to try Astrophotography. In all reality it also inspired Noel and I to continue the journey to innovate and push this niche category within the huge segment of photography to the next level. The creative juices are definitely flowing! I feel extremely blessed and grateful for the whole experience and the amount of opportunities it has opened up for us in the future. We can’t wait to create some special curriculum for the school to teach the students the essence of Astrophotography, while also experimenting with some new innovate approaches.

I really felt this single photo needed to be posted separately from the rest. I’m still in complete awe I got to experience this, let alone actually capture it on camera! This photo I captured last night in my backyard shows one of weathers biggest mysteries. “Ball Lightning” also known as Globe Lightning” still remains a rare/unexplained lightning phenomenon. Ball lightning has only been seen by 5% of the population on Earth, so to capture it on camera is a huge accomplishment for me personally! After post-editing this photo like the others, I noticed the lighting strikes were not as visible in the center because of how overexposed it was due to how bright the lighting got. None of the other photos did this, so I started playing around to try viewing what’s in the center of that bright picture. It was only after lowering my exposure all the way, or turning up de haze all the way did I finally get to see the magical ball in the canter! If I never would have been curious to find out I never would have uncovered how rare of a photo it really was. This first pic is the one with exposure turned all the way down. The second one has debase turned all the way up. I personally like that one the best because it shows more particulates in the air around the ball, which some scientists think contributes to creating Ball Lightning. The third picture is the original photo after doings some minor post-editing. I hope you all enjoy this amazingly rare photo and have a great weekend! 🤙🏼 - TBB

Last night was one for the books I won’t forget! Unfortunately, the sky’s here in Joshua Tree were to cloudy to go out and capture some Meteors during one of the most active meteor showers of the year known as The Perseids Meteor Shower. Although I did not get the chance to capture some more meteors for my collection, I was able to capture and witness one of the craziest lightning storms I’ve ever seen. We’ve had quite a few of these roll through the hi-desert lately, but nothing compared to this storm last night!
