Last year in November I broke my leg. No biggie, I’m gonna be off work for awhile, right?! Wrong. I ended up suffering from severe muscle atrophy in my calf and thigh which caused horrible foot/tendon/ligament/nerve issues that i don’t even understand myself. So unfortunately i cant properly explain it. All i can say it that it was bad and at one point, my Dr explained to me that i may never walk unassisted again.
He suggested PT to me and i didn’t hesitate to say yes. PT was set up for 3 times per week to start the following week. I was told I was literally going to have to learn how to walk All. Over. Again.
Then i went home and cried. Non stop for several hours.

David Flores was assigned to me from day one. He always greeted me with “Hello Mrs Hoyt! How are you today?”
Sometimes I’d say GREAT! But There were some days that were tough and I would be extremely discouraged. Ive walked since i was 2. Why couldn’t i just walk now? Frustrated doesn’t even begin to describe it. But Davids positive vibes and encouragement helped pushed me threw. His enthusiasm and positive outlook never wavered! He always told me “you can do it” and i truly needed that.

Yesterday, after 5 months i was released from PT. I’m walking with a slight limp, but more importantly i am walking unassisted. And I couldn’t have done it without David and St. Bernards Sports Medicine. I cannot recommend them or sing his praises enough.

David is a 2021 graduate of Arkansas State University where he was awarded the most outstanding student of the program. He began his career at Peak Rehab in Pocahontas and has already been logging hours towards being a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist. He is bilingual with Spanish being his primary language. He graduated from our very own Nettleton High School in 2014. (Go Raiders!) David loves to spend his free time working out, traveling, and volunteering at the Hispanic Center of Jonesboro.
