Peaceful morning …

Rita and I took a little trip down to Pella last weekend. We left early and enjoying the day together. A little time in nature, a little time wandering the small shops lining the downtown square.

The morning was quiet along the river, sitting just below Lake Red Rock. Walking the trails, we were able to watch quite a few eagles, herons and a couple of swans grace us with their presence.

Here’s a few pics capturing the majestic bald eagles that make Lake Red Rock their home.

I enjoy these moments - quiet time, nothing to do but soak up the sun and watch nature in all her glory! And the fact that I can enjoy this time with Rita brings great joy to me life.

Captured ...

I was lucky enough to have some time to spend out along the river. The day was sunny, the temps were rising. A gorgeous day and time spent with Rita. It's the small moment that make it all worth it!

The bald eagle dropped from the tree branch, circling over the river. Suddenly dropping down leveling off right over the river, extending their claws and snatching their mid-morning meal. Majestic. The splash behind as the fish was pulled from the water the exclamation point on the capture.
