Full disclosure, I fully believe that laughter is the best kind of spice to add to any shoot. You can expect that I will do my best to make you laugh and I will probably be totally awkward about it along the way. And I love bringing out joy in people and then seeing that splashed across photographs. I take what I do seriously, but I am not all-around serious. My goal is to make you feel like your

Roan Mountain is a well-loved destination for photos in South Central Appalachia and I never question why. She’s beautiful. She’s also fierce, and sometimes unpredictable. I’ve hiked her countless times and I’m always amazed at how drastically she morphs with the light and the weather. Sometimes she’s calm and sunny, with saturated blue skies. I’ve seen her draped with snow and ice, her relentless winds cutting to the bone with a chill. Once or twice, I’ve been lucky enough to see her surrounded by a quiet, purple-pink haze. On this morning, she was thick with fog. Her winds were loud and strong, and we weren’t sure if it was raining or if the cloud was just that dense. It was the middle of June, but it felt more like late October. We were soaked through by the end. But we knew this might happen, and we were ok with that. It was worth it. She always makes it worth it.
