The kind of session that reminds me why I fell in love with photography.

Emotion.
Connection.
Art.

Nothing forced. Just a family soaking in the last days before meeting their newest love. 🐚🌊🤎😭💕

I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of photographing mamas in the water at sunset. The warm light, the movement, the feeling of freedom—it all comes together so beautifully every single time.

And if I’m being honest, sessions like this have me daydreaming about next year more than ever. As excited as I am to soak up one more summer of Maryland beach sessions, every sunset over the water reminds me that we’ll be moving back to the Florida Panhandle next year. 🌊

Don’t worry, Maryland friends—I still have about a year left here, so I’m not going anywhere just yet. 🤍 But I can’t help getting excited thinking about the white sand beaches, emerald waters, and the beautiful sessions waiting for me there.

For now, I’m soaking in every golden Maryland sunset I can and documenting stories like this one along the way.

If you’ve been wanting a beach session this summer—whether it’s maternity, family, motherhood, or just because—now is the time to get on my calendar before my remaining summer dates fill up. ✨

In the space between day and night, she carried an entire universe beneath her heart. 🤎

Lately, so many of my mamas have been choosing to step into the water for their sessions, and I am absolutely here for it. There’s something so magical about letting go of the shoreline, embracing the elements, and creating art that feels both powerful and peaceful. The way the water reflects the sky, the movement, the emotion—it all comes together in the most beautiful way. These sessions have quickly become some of my favorites. 🌊

Let’s talk about community, boundaries, and what it actually means to have artistic integrity.

I am an entirely self-taught photographer. Everything you see in my work and brand came from years of relentless trial and error—late nights, mistakes, and slowly figuring out what worked. Finding my distinct voice took quiet dedication. It meant learning how I wanted to convey connection and speak to the people who trust me with their memories.

None of us create in a vacuum. I’m the first to admit I’m not the first or last to do the ideas I do. We all pull inspiration from peers, and that shared energy keeps our industry moving forward. But there is a distinct line where inspiration ends and blatant copying begins.

It is disheartening when a peer treats your hard-earned business model as a personal shortcut. It’s one thing to put your own spin on a trend; it is another entirely to mirror someone’s wording, mimic their structure, and replicate their creative concepts. Finding out someone is using your portfolio as a template—even copying the exact captions you write to advertise sessions in local Facebook groups—and then intentionally blocking you from their stories to hide the sessions they are replicating, is a level of calculation that is hard to stomach. It’s exhausting to be watched, not for connection, but for extraction.

Honestly, it makes it difficult to trust building local community. I used to love being an open book and unconditionally supporting other photographers. Instead, experiences like this force you to build walls and second-guess opening up because you’re afraid of being used for a free blueprint.

I am sharing this because keeping it in feels like ignoring a shattered boundary. To anyone out there gently finding their path: protect your own journey enough to discover your unique voice. Don’t rob yourself of the magic that comes from your own trial and error. A replica might feel safe, but it will never hold the depth, intuition, or genuine heart of a concept born from your own soul. Your original art is worth the time it takes to build.

There is something so sacred about becoming.

The waiting.
The softness.
The quiet moments where you can already feel your whole world changing before they’re even here.

Motherhood has a way of slowing time and deepening it all at once. 🤎🌊

Some sessions leave pieces of themselves on your heart long after they’re over.
Grimm’s session will always be one of those for me.

Photographing this sweet boy and the family who loves him so deeply was one of the most emotional honors I’ve ever had behind my camera. You could feel the love in every moment — in every gentle touch, every smile, every quiet second spent soaking him in a little longer.

There’s something so heartbreaking about knowing goodbye is coming, while still trying to hold onto the beauty of what’s here right now. And somehow, that’s exactly what this session felt like — love, in its purest form.

At the very end of our session, Grimm was sitting in the truck as they were getting ready to leave. I reached up to pet him goodbye, and the reality of it all hit me harder than I expected. I started crying, and then his mom did too. It was one of those moments that just stays with you. Because our pets are never “just pets.” They are family. They are pieces of our everyday lives, woven into our routines, our comfort, our memories, and our hearts.

These sessions are incredibly heavy, but they are also deeply meaningful. Being trusted to preserve these final moments of connection is something I will never take lightly.

I continue to offer end-of-life pet sessions at a heavily discounted rate because I know how important these photographs become. If your beloved pet is nearing the end of their journey, please know I am always honored to help tell their story with gentleness, love, and care.

Grimm, you are so deeply loved. 🤍🌈

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas — the ones with babies in their arms, the ones carrying babies in their hearts, the ones waiting, grieving, healing, growing, and loving with everything they have. 🤍

Motherhood is powerful in every form, and getting to document even the smallest pieces of these stories is something I never take for granted. I get a front row seat to the beauty of motherhood — the softness, the strength, the chaos, the connection, the sacrifice, and the love that fills every little moment.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is showing moms what everyone else already sees — how beautiful, strong, powerful, and deeply important they are. The way your babies look at you says it all.

Today is for you. 🌙🌊

Lately I’ve had so many clients who just say “I trust your vision,” and I can’t even explain how much I’m loving that. Letting me create art, letting the moments unfold naturally… it’s been everything. ✨🥰
