I don’t know what it truly means to be a leader—let alone a pastor over an entire church. Some people are natural-born leaders, while others find themselves placed in leadership. But both are called by God.
Leadership comes with hardships that often go unseen. We admire the benefits, but not always the work behind them. We don’t see the late-night calls, the tears that fall in private, or the countless prayers whispered to the Lord. Yet God makes no mistakes. He is the master strategist, knowing the hearts of those He chooses to lead His people.
God knew that Pastor Mark Anthony McCollum of
would be equipped for the task. As a member, I can truly say he is the embodiment of what it means to be a leader.
