Wow I found it. In 2008 I had the chance to photograph Jon Sterling for a story in (201) Magazine written by Bob Klapisch. My dad listened to the yanks in the car whenever they were playing so I knew the voice but stepping into the press box for the first time as a young buck was intimidating. Jon was kind, eccentric, fully himself. Strange how these little black boxes can take us on these journeys, give us these moments, and voices from your childhood end up right in front of you. Rest easy Jon. ⚾️

I’m a huge fan of and but I was unfamiliar with before this weekend. and I, along with encyclopedic knowledge of snowboard history drove up to Friday night to discover a rainy/ icy forecast yet we were somehow surrounded by snowboard legends. What a truly special and fun event. I barely took any photos literally blowing off the pipe jam because the sun came out and I wanted to ride.
But over the course of the weekend I ran into so many friends and made so may new ones. I want to start planning for next year and try harder to get on the course and take photos. Either way, I’ll remember this weekend fondly.
