During WW2, the German Kormoran (HSK-8) cruiser sank the Australian light cruiser HMAS Sydney during a mutually destructive battle off Western Australia on 19 November 1941. Damage sustained during the battle prompted the scuttling of Kormoran. In 2015, Our gear was selected as part of an expedition to record the shipwrecks at a depth of 2500m (8200ft)
