A little secret, a big announcement, and photos you’ll get to look back on forever. 🤍

We love seeing Coal Creek Farm used for moments like this.

Pregnancy announcements are such a sweet time to get in front of the camera and capture the excitement before everyone else gets to be in on the news.

And with plenty of space, different backdrops, and photo ops around the property, you can make the announcement feel completely like you.

Nobody talks about THIS part of owning acreage. 🌳😂

About 10 days ago, a HUGE limb came down from one of our pecan trees. And when I say limb…this thing was bigger than some people’s entire front-yard tree. 😳

Apparently it had been struck by lightning quite some time ago and had slowly deteriorated until it finally gave way.

Mitch got it safely to the ground right away, and last Sunday a couple of guys from church came over and helped him cut it all up.

Which left us with approximately 47,000 branches to clean up. 😂

Okay, maybe not 47,000. But it sure felt like it.

We’ve spent the last few days hauling, dragging and cleaning up pile after pile because around here, when something needs to be done, Mitch is going to GET. IT. DONE.

He works incredibly hard and takes so much pride in keeping this property looking good. And while I love living on acreage, sometimes “country living” looks a whole lot less like sunsets and porch swings…and a whole lot more like dragging brush. 😂

Wouldn’t trade it, though. ❤️

Who else knows that owning property means the project list NEVER ends? 🙋‍♀️

Proof that you don’t have to go far to get a LOT of variety in your gallery. 🤍

We love how this couple moved around the property and made use of so many of the different photo ops along the way. A change of backdrop, a different prop, a few steps in another direction, and suddenly you have an entirely new look without ever having to pack up and drive somewhere else.

It’s always so fun seeing which spots photographers gravitate toward and how they make each one feel completely different.

And these two? They made every single one look good. 📸

This is one of our favorite things about seeing full galleries from sessions at Coal Creek Farm. You can move around the property and get completely different looks without packing up the car and driving somewhere else halfway through your session.👏🏻

For senior photos especially, that means more room to play with outfits, backgrounds, and different sides of their personality while still making the most of your time.

We love seeing just how much variety photographers can create here. You’d never guess all of these were taken during the same session at the same place!🫶🏼

Photographers know that parking can make or break the start of a session. 😅

When your clients are circling around trying to figure out where to leave their car, texting you for directions, or walking way farther than expected, it adds stress before you’ve even taken the first photo.

That’s why we have designated parking at Coal Creek Farm!

You’ll find parking on the crushed granite on both sides of the drive just after entering the property. If those spots are full, we also have overflow parking available in the pasture.

For larger groups like sports teams, cheerleaders, or extended families, we recommend carpooling whenever possible. Sessions with more than five vehicles will need special permission ahead of time.

One less logistical detail for you and your clients to worry about. 🙌

It’s about time we reintroduce ourselves! 👋

We are Shannon and Mitch Wilburn, the owners of Coal Creek Farm.🌳 Transplants from Texas, but Okies for our entire married life.

When we aren’t running Coal Creek Farm, Mitch is a local senior preaching pastor at the Park Church in Tulsa.✝️ Shannon is an entrepreneur and started her 4th business, Shine Executive Coaching. ✨

We have two grown children who have amazing spouses and four grandchildren! We are blessed!🧡

The underlying current below Coal Creek Farm Jenks and our family is that we Love the Lord and His People! That is what drives our lives.

We love serving the Photographers of Tulsa and seeing your work come alive on our property! 📸
