Modern day cowgirl. She is as real as they come.

Taking care of a herd of horses and running a trail riding ranch Red Valley Rebels - feeding, watering, meds, farrier & vet appointments, grooming, saddling, training, and taking beginners on up to experts on guided trail rides through the beautiful Colorado scenery. No matter rain, snow, ice, and wind she is at the ranch doing what she loves. Her love for her herd runs deep.

I am lucky enough to have made the connection with Ella last year when I was planning my photography retreat in Fairplay, CO. I have ridden several times at the ranch and had one of my styled shoots there. It’s always been so much fun! This last time I was out I took some photos of a day in her life. We had a lot of fun, especially with the standing photo. Riding on the trail and taking pics was challenging and rewarding.

I’m grateful to have become friends with Ella and I can’t wait to see her again soon in January!

Let’s be real, like this Moose looking at her reflection.

It was an early morning for me a couple weeks ago in Colorado. I always wake up before sunrise and go “moose hunting” with my camera. I had a friend I made on Instagram tell me where some were being seen. Driving down the dirt road, windows down but heater up, listening to my perfectly curated Colorado playlist on Spotify 😄I spotted this pretty lady. 😍

I slowed down, grabbed my Sony | Alpha camera with a 100-400mm lens I rented from Lensrentals (by the way they always come in clutch for when I need extra zoom for my wildlife adventures) and had maybe 4 seconds to get this shot. But then I realized what she was doing. I thought she was going in for a morning dip…. Nope, she realized she was about to bed down into the embankment and the pond. She quickly got back up, turned around to bed down with her butt towards me.

That 4 seconds I had to make a decision,
get my settings, lock in, and capture this beautiful lady with what looks like her looking at herself. But really she was just trying to take a morning nap. 🤣

See her and I both had 4 seconds to make some important decisions. What’s cool is we made them together; just her and I. That’s what I really love about my alone time looking for moose. Moments only I will have with these majestic creatures and they happen to be my favorite 🫎

Reflecting on my time spent this year in Colorado was one for the memory book. With some work and play - I made it back to my home away from home Town of Fairplay 5 times. I hope to double that next year. So if you are needing a photographer in the Colorado area. You know who to call for weddings, families, seniors, branding, and wildlife adventures 🤍✨

Colorado, where the mountains are high, the dreams are big, and horses run free.

What a dream shoot this was! I’m so thankful I met Erin, Jamie, and their sweet horses. Just another reason to love my home away from home even more. I’m thankful for all the friendships I continue to make in Fairplay.

Erin and Jamie own The Kettle Cafe if you’re ever in the area! They have the best coffee!

Hunter & Taylor | Colorado

It was a blue bird day for these two! We started the day at their cabin in Alma, CO and then had portraits at Blue Lakes. They built their arbor for their wedding and brought it to Colorado for their ceremony at the cabin. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family. It was a beautiful ceremony and not a dry eye to be seen. It was a beautiful & magical day and I was honored to be a part of it. 🩷✨🖤

Highlights from the last day of my Elopement Photography Retreats ✨

Magical… 🏔️

I love the chemistry between Brytni & Stephen. They make everything look effortless. I can’t thank them enough for collabing on this photoshoot. She sent me inspo pics I fell in love with, picked out their outfits, and I picked the location in Colorado. The rest feel into place.

brytni and I have been shooting together since she was 16! She modeled for Oklahoma wedding magazines that I would shoot for. We stayed in touch all these years after and our worlds collided once again last year and this year. Except this time it was our turn to style our own shoot and be creative! I think it came together perfectly!
