I was just telling my husband that I was disappointed that I had only seen on Tiger Swallowtail all summer, and that one being more towards Spring. And when we drove in the driveway, like magic, there was one on my red lilies.

I love seeing interesting behaviors when observing insects. In this case, an Easter Tiger Swallowtail "embraces" the phlox flower so it can plunge it's proboscis deep inside to search for nectar.

Last year my gardens were filled with dozens and dozens of hummingbirds moths, this year, I have only seen one. But, in their place are multitudes of these cute little Skipper butterflies.
