Real talk: do you actually read captions?

As someone who has ADHD, if I’m fully reading a longer caption, I’m probably skimming it. I also just don’t like posting on here with a caption that says “look at this cute lil fam 🫶” because it requires no effort. I sure as s**t don’t want to come across as a photographer who doesn’t put in effort!

Also if you’re a non-photographer and DID read this, feel free to elaborate on what catches your attention in the comments!

Planning a destination microwedding or elopement?

+ me = 🤝 dream team

We planned this destination styled elopement last March that took place in Arches National Park in Moab, Utah! (PLS take the term styled lightly because these are quite literally Shelby and Courtney’s wedding photos.)

Lily handled all of the styling, vendors, general logistics, and traveling with multiple dresses and shoes. I put together the timeline, which included researching locations within the park, hike times, and time in between each location. Normally Lily would do that, but I wanted to contributed something. 😂😂😂

Aaaand no hate to Lily, but I do offer elopement planning in some of my elopement packages if hiring a planner doesn’t feel conducive to your plans!

“What happens if it rains on our elopement day?”

You’re having an outdoor elopement with no covered backup options. Here for it! Unfortunately, we can’t control the weather, and certain seasons are more prone to rain than others! You have a few options…

Option 01 | Grab some umbrellas and embrace it! As long as there’s no chance for severe weather, why not?! I have clear umbrellas that I always have with me, and I will never mind getting rained on. But hey, I totally understand if this isn’t your vision or vibe.

Option 2 | Have flexibility with timing day-of. If possible, we can move things around based on the timing of the rain, when it’ll be the heaviest, etc., and I will quite literally stare at a radar for an hour straight or check the weather every 5 minutes if I need to for you!

Option 3 | Have a backup day! I would say this is the least ideal option, as you’d have to ensure your vendors can be booked for multiple days and willing to shift, BUT it is an option.

Option 4 | Shift to an indoor or covered location! I know, I know. You planned something you dreamed of and are having to shift it entirely. S**t absolutely sucks, but there are options for this option. Dress up in your attire again and do photos in your first location. Do anniversary photos at the first location. We can make it happen!!

HOT TAKEEEEE with all the peace, love, and support 🫶

You don’t have to do anything for your wedding (or even have one for that matter) that you don’t want to do, especially if you’re feeling pressured or maybe even manipulated by family members into doing so.

Your wedding. Your marriage. Your choice!

I totally understand it may feel scary or may even cause conflict to stand your ground and say no, but SHAWTY, you got this. It’s about you and your partner. How you choose to celebrate is YOUR choice, nobody else’s.

I thought I had more of these two on my feed but I guess not? So here’s more. 🫶

I did post about it before, but Caroline and Brett live in WNC. Their wedding was scheduled to happen before Hurricane Helene came through and tore WNC to shreds.

We had many conversations about what would be best as they decided whether or not to postpone or continue on, and at the last minute, their original venue/airbnb rental let them know that they could no longer accommodate them.

They decided to move forward with their day despite the road bumps, and I know I’m glad they did! It was a beautiful intimate wedding for two people who truly love each other with every fiber of their beings. ❤️✨
