Relentless (adj) - showing or promising no abatement of severity, intensity, strength, or pace
The hallmark of a good team is how you respond to adversity - this team faced plenty of it this season. But, no matter the circumstance, they battled game in and game out, win or lose. You can either choose to fold under pressure, or play through it, and these girls did an admirable job playing through it.
It’s hard to find the right words to say when a season ends - especially this one. This group of seniors is the first group I got to see play freshman through senior year. They are all equally incredible athletes and incredible people. It is tough to see the season end, but so proud of these girls for battling all season right to the bitter end.
While Wednesday marked the end of the season for the Lady Golden Cougars, there is still a lot to be proud of for a group that moved up a class this year. Bringing this team’s story to life for all to see is a great honor. It’s more than a team - it is a family that I am glad to be a part of.
To the seniors - I’ve watched you grow since you were wide eyed freshman starting out your varsity careers. To see the heights you guys attained will be something I hope you remember well past your playing years. Every single one of you has been a real treat to watch play, and we will miss every single one of you.
