The final photos vs. what it actually took to get them. 😂🎣

Little man was perfectly happy playing in the sand… but the second we put him in his “boat,” he had some VERY strong opinions about the situation. 😂

Then we moved the tub into the lake and discovered that apparently I had accidentally made a functional boat because it started trying to float away. Dad kept a hand on it while I grabbed the shots, big sister joined in, and somehow all of the chaos turned into the sweetest little 9-month milestone gallery. 🥹

This is what I love about photographing little ones—you work with whatever they give you, embrace the chaos, and sometimes those in-between moments end up being just as memorable as the final photos. 🤍🎣

It started with a tiny crocheted fishing hat… and somehow ended with me cutting down a sapling in my yard. 😂🎣

I almost convinced myself I needed to build an actual wooden raft, but eventually landed on a steel tub, a handmade mast and sail, some fishing net, and a whole lot of “let’s see if this works.”

And somehow… it all came together. 🥹

A little over a year ago, my family and I packed up our lives, moved to a new state, and I essentially had to introduce Carefully Kept Photography all over again. 📸

Starting over in a place where no one knows your name or your work is a little scary—especially after spending years building a business and client base somewhere else.

But lately? It finally feels like things are moving in the right direction again. 🥹

New faces. New families. Senior inquiries. Sessions on the calendar. Kind reviews and recommendations. Returning clients already talking about their next milestones.

There’s still so much I want to build here, but I’m really proud of how far CKP has come in just one year.

Slowly but surely, New Hampshire is starting to feel like home for my business, too. ❤️

I am notoriously bad at remembering to grab behind-the-scenes content during sessions. 😂 Once I get in the zone, I'm way more focused on getting the shot than remembering to document myself getting the shot!

So I'm always extra grateful when my clients remember for me. 🤍

A little BTS from this sweet Gone Fishin' milestone session 🎣 because sometimes getting the shot means getting right down in the sand while Dad helps keep everything (and everyone 😂) exactly where we need it.
