I'm exhausted. It's late. I have so much to do. I glance over...
"Yeah, Yeah. I see."
But did I?

"Mom, look. Birds!"
It's raining. I'm soaked. I move my head to that direction.
"Yeah, Yea. I see."
But did I?

"Mom, look. Red buds!"
I have to get him inside. It's cold. He forgot his coat. I need to make dinner.
"Yeah, Yea. I see."

This am I'm rushing her out the door. We are late. The bus is coming, I can hear it.
"Let's go!"
She won't walk down the drive way. She's frozen.
"Mom, look!"
I looked.
Drive way full of worms.
We tiptoe our way down the driveway.
The squiggly worms make us laugh.
We hold hands.

Thank God for all my little sticky fingers. God gives us children to help us see.

I always hated doing laundry. I hated folding towels. I hated putting clothes away. That ended the day we had a foster child walk into our home with a torn trash bag full of mismatched clothes that either didn't fit or were to torn to wear. Now, I fold my children's clothes with a spirit of thankfulness.

I'm always shouting, "Hurry! We have to go. We need to be there. You are making us late!"

But my heart is screaming, "Slow down! This errand won't make or break you. This event won't be recorded on your gravestone. You want to be cremated so there won't even be a gravestone. No one will remember this event after your gone, except your family. So, slow down! Stop rushing."
