It's fall and we’ve missed you! A new season deserves a moment to gather your family and make some memories! Book your next appointment on our new website in just a few clicks. You'll notice that you receive more digital files included in your session fee, but we are still happy to order prints for you instead. We look forward to seeing you soon!

All New Website!

I can't wait for you to see the new website! More will be added eventually, but you'll be able to see my floral designs, and art work in addition to your beautiful portraits! Soon, I'd like to offer fresh floral designs on Fridays, Watercolor Wednesdays and maybe some classes. Keep an eye out for those.

Always fun to have a flower shop day! This was a special request for a blue and purple funeral piece from a high school friend of mine. It was sweet of her to think of asking for me to create this piece for her mother.

It is truly an honor to have been voted third place in the myjournalcourier “Reader’s Choice Awards” for this year! I am so grateful to have such amazing clients and friends who value my work and have for a long time. This is my 23rd year as a photographer, and the industry has changed so much, but I still really love, capturing memories and bringing people’s ideas to life through their portraits!

I hope to see everyone soon for their fall and Christmas portraits! You can book at www.karenandersondesigns.com/investment, where you’ll find descriptions of each session that I offer and what is included. You’ll notice some changes in offering more digital files per session, but you can still choose to order prints instead with the session fee going towards your order. If you order prints, you will automatically receive the digital file of that image as well.

THANK YOU ALL! 🎉📷💐😊

Congratulations to the JHS Marching Crimsons who scored big yesterday at the Sage City Invitational in Monticello. They secured 2 trophies including 1st place Colorguard and 2nd place overall in class 3A competition.

I’m proud to photograph the senior band members for their stadium banners each year! Come see the banners and their amazing field show next Friday night at their homecoming game - Let's Go Crimsons!

Very cool exhibit at the Jacksonville Area Museum tonight. I’m pointing at my canvas in the collaborative piece! Lots of other great Jacksonville art to take a look at while you’re there, many pieces have been loaned to the exhibit. Good to see and catch up with some of my favorite area artists there tonight!

Open Wednesdays and Saturdays 10-4, Sundays 1-4

I’ll be at the event tonight when they have the opening party 6-8! I’m piece number 21 in the collaborative art piece!

OPEN THIS WEEKEND!

Art by Jacksonville-related creatives, as well as one large collective art piece, is now on display at the Jacksonville Area Museum in a new exhibit entitled “The Geography of Memory: Jacksonville in Art."

The collection includes scenes of our area, as interpreted by artists throughout the community. Topics include buildings, homes, nature, agriculture, and much more.

A highlight is 100 eight-by-eight-inch canvases created by area artists and assembled into one large work. The combined work reveals a larger topic unknown to the artists while creating their work.

These canvases express creativity across many mediums, including acrylic, oils, lego, collage, beading, tissue, fabric, and even food!

The individual canvases came with a small square image which depicts a piece of a larger image. Participating artists were asked to interpret the image they were given on their individual canvases, which will be combined with the 99 other canvases to reveal an image celebrating the Jacksonville area.

Each artist worked only on one-one hundredth of the finished piece of art without knowing what the final, larger image depicts. That larger image will reveal itself only after the 100 individual canvasses were assembled side-by-side during a special artists-only event!

Come by the museum to see the results!

“Imagine a checkerboard where each square is an individual work of art, and when placed together on the board those squares make a much bigger and recognizable work of art,” said Jacksonville Area Museum board member and event coordinator Marcy Jones. “

“The Geography of Memory: Jacksonville in Art” may be seen at the Jacksonville Area Museum, located at 300 E. State Street. The museum is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.

Visit jacksonvilleareamuseum.org or connect with the Jacksonville Area Museum on Facebook for more information or to find out how to become a museum member or volunteer.

I've been busy, busy trying to complete my brand new website, and in preparation, I realized I needed new headshots! I got myself already, and dragged my amazing hubby out to the studio to get them done. It’s always so different being in front of the camera instead of behind it, but a good experience to have!

Thank you for your patience-the new website is not live yet, but we will officially launch very soon! We are soooo close to being done! In the meantime, if you would like to book for this fall, you can still go through my booking link here: https://book.squareup.com/appointments/88t4g6vx01zj8e/location/92840785AHAJ8/services

A very special happy birthday to Miss Greene County, Lucy Mae! This was an awesome session with this sweet girl in preparation for the Illinois State Fair pageant in January. I can't share the chosen images for the program, but here are some other favorites from her recent session! Hope you have an amazing day, Lucy!
