My bedroom ceiling. I got a Pococo Galaxy Projector a while back because I’m a sucker for things like that, and recently the company sent out an email offering customers a chance to test their new projector. I’m also a sucker for free stuff, so I got on board. And now I’m testing it. So far it’s passing — they made a few decent upgrades that I’m enjoying playing around with (music! Nature sounds! A Bluetooth speaker that’s actually not half bad for what it is!). So, yeah, it was free, but to their credit they’re not holding a gun to my head and demanding that I publicly praise it. I have to say, though, so far it’s shaping up to be a pretty effective little decompression machine.•

Attempted mountain biking for the first time over the summer. Rode around a lake, pedaling mostly uphill in brutal heat for hours, while people on the lake were cooling off and — this is key — not traveling uphill. So I ditched the mountain biking idea and bought a kayak, because mountain biking is a scam and I’m not falling for that. •

Well, hi! Not doing much shooting lately, so here’s a day job update that you didn’t ask for. The company’s based in Milwaukee, so when you travel there you either sit in your hotel after work, or you do a kayak tour of the Milwaukee River and decide that the city is way cooler than you originally thought (even though you liked the city to begin with). This is my second visit in two months; I wouldn’t mind coming back again. And again.

Hi there. It’s been a while, so here’s a windy St. Simons Island sunset selfie. Doing a 20 mile bicycle ride tomorrow, because I’m a glutton for punishment. Yeah, it’s been a while. The COVID insanity brought a few changes, some bad (the closure of the Athens Photography Collective studio) and some good (new and better day job, only possible because they’re allowing everyone to work from home after the plague is driven from the land). And just when the dust settled and I was thinking about shooting again, invites me to do the behind-the-scenes photography for the latest project. And because every idea she has is better than the last, and I want that front row seat while she creates something wonderful and sometimes weird, and because it means I get to work with people like and and again, and I get to meet people like , I say hell yes. Also I get to post run-on sentences to my heart’s content. •
