When you spend your evening with me and my camera in a coastal town ~ the Historic Downtown Swansboro backdrop for Abby + Matt’s engagement session was everything and more. We spent the evening walking around and enjoying all the beautiful scenery. The night couldn’t have been more perfect by the North Carolina coast. For the mamas up late nursing and scrolling, from another mama up late nursing and working while the kids are asleep, remember to give yourself grace today. It sometimes feels impossible to get it all done, there’s never ending laundry and then the washer breaks, the dogs are shedding, the baby needs a nap, allll the things. We carry so much and it’s okay to feel stressed. Rest in the fact that God gave us these babies and we were made for this season. 🥹🫶

This newborn session had so many precious moments and getting to capture the love big sister has for her new baby sister was so heartwarming. I remember the season when my oldest two were this little and I remember being stressed so much, but I also remember we had the sweetest moments and adventures. My camera was always out and I am so grateful for the memories I get to hold onto forever. Kitchen sinks make the best baths, and there’s no place like home.

Everything about Raphael’s proposal to Ana was so perfect! From him finding me on Facebook right after I posted in a Johnston County group that I had just joined (because it’s our hometown), to her being SO gorgeous and SO happy, the beautiful gardens, the anticipation, the laughs and smiles! God truly brought it together so beautifully! Crying happy tears right now because I’m so thankful for my dream job, and so grateful for the sweetest people who make it possible. I’ve documented so many seasons of this sweet girls life and when she texted me the ring pic (which I knew was coming SOON) I was crying happy tears!!! It is such a blessing to be able to be there for life’s sweetest moments and I cannot wait for their wedding day! ~ waterproof mascara will for sure be needed because I’ll be sobbing!! they are so perfect for each other! 💍

Happy Mother’s Day from your photographer. If nobody told you, you’re doing the work God called you to do and it doesn’t go unseen in Heaven. Even on the hard nights, when you don’t feel like you can get up one more time with the baby, you get up sleepily, comfort your baby and things are well again. When you make Christmas happen with a small budget. When you cook homemade meals even when you don’t have the energy. When you feed them chicken nuggets because you definitely don’t have the energy. When you show them how to worship and pray. God sees you. You’re their home and I hope all of my clients feel loved and appreciated for all they do today. If you’re in a season of hurt, grief, waiting, I’m praying for God to turn things around and hold you close today.

I documented the sweetest mama & her baby girl while they patiently await their newest little one. Thank you God for such a beautiful sunset and blessing this family with another sweet babe! We spent the evening playing, snuggling, and splashing in the freezing water. It was so worth it for the memories of this season 🌊🐚
