You’ll still get the beautiful, close-up moments you expect, but these give you a completely different perspective of your family together, the shoreline, and the place where you made these memories.

The one who hasn't slept. Who googled things at 3am she never thought she'd need to know. Who has cried more times this week than she can count and still showed up. Every. Single. Time.

You are not doing this wrong. You are doing something that has never been done before, in exactly the way only you can do it.

And that baby? They aren't looking for perfect. They're just looking for you.

A little reminder to slow down and notice the details.

The tiniest lips. Those sleepy newborn eyes. A little tuft of hair over her ears. The way she naturally curls into that perfect newborn scrunch.

Not next week. Not tomorrow. Not even tonight when you lay them down for bed.

I know you know that. But knowing it and feeling it are two different things.

That's why I do what I do. Not just to take pretty pictures. To freeze the version of them that only exists right now, in these first few weeks, when they still curl up on your chest like they belong there.

If you have ever wondered what a family session actually looks like behind the scenes, this one is for you.

It is not perfectly posed the whole time. It is not stressful. It is not your kids behaving perfectly. It is 40 to 60 minutes of your family just being your family, and me catching all of it.

We do get the pretty photo. But the ones you will love most are always the ones in between.
