*IMPORTANT 2026 SPRING WEIGH/TAG-IN INFORMATION*

REMINDER that Spring Weigh/Tag-In for Market Lambs, Goats, Hogs, and Beef/Dairy Feeder Calves is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Jackson County Fairgrounds.

Please remain in your vehicle until it’s your turn to weigh/tag in. A member of the Junior Fair Board will bring the paperwork to your vehicle. Please STOP at the front gate to be directed to the correct line by a JFB member! Do NOT just blow right by them! A reminder to please drive SLOWLY as there are hundreds of people, animals, and trailers on the grounds that day.

County Bred forms should be signed by the breeder PRIOR to weigh in. County Bred forms can be picked up ahead of time at the Jackson County OSU Extension Office. Forms MUST be the new duplicate form. Plan ahead!

There is a tag fee of $5 for each animal. Thank you to the Jackson County 4-H Advisory Council for helping to lower the cost of tag fees this year!

If you have more than one species, we recommend that you tag any goats/lambs/hogs first and then proceed to the cattle line. There are directions and a map below.

Blue line = Beef & Dairy Beef Feeders
*Please enter through the main front gate, turn left and go to the large scale in the show arena, then exit past the race horse barns and back out the front gate. All animals must be haltered.
Also a reminder that there will be NO non-sale eligible class this year for feeder calves, so ALL feeders planning to be exhibited at the county fair MUST come to weigh-in!

Red line = Lambs/Goats
*Weigh in will be held at the shelter house in the campground. Turn right at the first row, exit through the back row of the campground, go through gate 4, turn left at the race horse barns, exit out the main front gate. Please enter the full scrapie tag number on your registration form. All animals must be haltered.

Yellow line = Hogs
*Tag in will be held in the commercial building. Go past the campgrounds and follow the racehorse track around to the commercial building. Exit out the main front gate.

A reminder that county fairs are required to use a new RFID tagging system now, meaning that wait times may be longer than anticipated. Please exude patience as we work to tag or weigh each animal appropriately. An additional reminder that any animals deemed unsafe will not be tagged or weighed.

A reminder that it is important for exhibitors to be aware of Junior Fair Livestock Exhibition Rules. Please review rules for any changes PRIOR to weigh-in here:https://jackson.osu.edu/sites/jackson/files/imce/000%20-%20ALL%20PAGES%20COMBINED.pdf
