Franklin Aloysius Mietelka 🐢🤍

Born at home on October 17 // 7lbs 3oz, 21in long

Named for Frank Mietelka, George’s older brother who passed away during infancy, and Aloysius “Lou” Brassil, George’s grandpa who passed away two days after our wedding.

We love you so much Frankie!! This week with you has been the best 😭

2023 TOP TEN

these are not necessarily anyone’s favorites except mine. clients likely chose other photos to print - but these, for me as an artist, made me feel things.

I sense my style to be slowly shifting. documentary style photos, emotion, vulnerability, candid moments, light + shadow, leading lines, the sacraments….beauty that is true. these are the images I’m drawn to.

there are many, many, many more images I love from the year - and I’d like to slowly post them. so many catholic weddings, sweet families, and church branding content I haven’t shared!

it was incredibly difficult but also creatively inspiring to go through all client galleries from the year and narrow them down to a top 10. i’ll be sharing more in stories.

as an artist, it’s vulnerable to share these - for me, it’s a peek into my own heart as well as the hearts and souls of my clients.

I’m alive!!

George & I have been married almost four months now and we’ve been loving this sweet season of life.

I’ve completely neglected Instagram and it’s been so wonderful to take a lil break. but I realized today I haven’t shared some of my very favorite work from the year! so I’m excited to start sharing again soon.

in the meantime, I’m almost fully booked for 2024 weddings, even without being present on this app! praise God!! so just a lil PSA not to wait to reach out if you’re interested in Catholic wedding photography :)

I’ve got big plans for 2024, can’t wait to share them with you!

Kathryn Marie Mietelka.

George and I entered the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony september 2, 2023. our Traditional Latin Mass + sweet backyard garden party was everything we dreamed and more.

words completely fail me when I attempt to express the gratitude I hold for George, for this tremendous sacrament, and for the immense outpouring of love and support from our loved ones. we have the most amazing God, family and friends — we love you so much. tears are coming to my eyes even as I type this, two months later.

another huge gift was given to us in the form of .thebrauns. truly an incredible experience of authenticity and art in the form of these photographs which we will cherish forever. I cannot recommend them enough!! their ability to encounter the human person and to document truth and beauty astound me. Cameron and Mindy, thank you.

finally…I love you, George. I am humbled and honored to be your wife. thank you for loving me. 🤍
