Marco Island Florida is home to 500-600 Burrowing Owls. They are designated as a State Threatened Species by Florida Fish & Wildlife. Many homeowners participate in a Safe Harbor Program by building starter burrows. This homeowner even provided a perch. These Owls nest from mid February to mid July.
