Another image of Jackson’s own wonderful young operatic soprano Miss Hillary Watkins. I believe you can hear her sing Silent Night on You Tube. This portrait sitting featured over 200 images over a 2 hour sitting and probably produced 150 magnificent images.

Marion and I are very, very found of this gifted, lovely and enormously talented young lady! And she is very elegant in front of our camera.

If you are an artist, or a musician or a singer who needs promotional images to advance your career, Marion and I love portraying individuals in the arts. And no one will put more artistic effort or refinement into your images. 601-977-0081.

I had the opportunity to photograph one of my very favorite muses, the enormously talented Hillary Watkins of Jackson, MS. Right now Hillary is a student of opera at Chicago’s Roosevelt College. She is as beautiful and elegant as she is gifted. When Hillary sings a sacred song or spiritual, one is transported to another place .

Marion and I hope she will follow in the path of Laurel’s Leontyne Price and bring great pride to Mississippi in the Opera World.

I always tell Hillary that with I think she has one of the loveliest faces Marion and I have ever had the joy of portraying. She is also as sweet and gracious as she is talented. She is going to make Jackson proud.

Marion and I were both sick on December 8th when First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, MS celebrated the retirement of beloved minister Rev. Brister Ware. Brister and Marian are loved by the entire church, including Marion and me. Since illness kept us from coming to church that day to thank Brister for his decades of loving, faithful service, we want to post this portrait, our favorite of the several we have had the honor of creating over the years, and these words to wish this special man a very blessed and well earned retirement. Even after 20,000 portrait sittings, first individually (1977-1989) and then as a team (Over 14,000 sittings (1989 - 2023) Marion and I STILL get excited every time we step behind our camera to create a portrait! Each sitting is a labor of love.

This exquisite mother is our dear friend and Jackson, MS Councilwoman Angelique Lee, with her beautiful daughters Malita, 7 and McKemzie, 15. Angelique is one of the most dynamic human beings we have the honor of calling our friend. I believe one day she will be perhaps our Mayor, our Governor or any office she ever cares to run for. Congresswoman, Senator, or President. Marion and I would vote for her for any office she desired. That's how much we think of her.

Marion and I spent over three hours with these beautiful ladies creating, creating over 200 images in four different sets of beautifully coordinated clothing. Besides being a great city and state public servant, Angelique has a "red carpet" sense for fashion.

We are honored to work with this beautiful young family and Marion and I put the same effort, artistry, passion and quest for perfection into every client with whom we work. That is the Marion and Silber way.

Marion and I had a great honor and joy yesterday—We drove to Mississippi’s Delta farming area, 90 or so miles north of Jackson, to photograph a beautiful and charming four year old granddaughter of Greg and Velmarie Burton, of Isola, MS. The sitting went beautifully and today I am editing through the images, culling, refining, and getting them ready for little Sutton’s mom and grandma to review, enjoy and select from. But that is an everyday event and not why I am sharing this with you.

What made this sitting so special to us is that Velmarie first came to us in 1990, when we were still in Marion’s original George Street studio, two years before we built our beautiful studio on County Line Road. (1992-2010.) Velmarie, like many other Marion and Silber clients, has honored us with her trust, business and friendship for 32 years of the 33 years Marion and I have been a dedicated, loving, portrait creating couple!

One of the things we say in our Mission Statement, on our new website (www. marionandsilber.com) is that we treat every client, major or minor, personal or business in nature, Like Family. And we are happiest when clients also become friends and part of our extended studio family.

Though every portrait we create is special to us, and every portrait purchased helps us earn a living, the greatest joy Marion and I experience is the friendships and relationships we develop while creating memories for families and beautiful art for their walls. Many of our clients have been with Marion and me for over three decades and go back even farther with Marion; many of her original clients are still with us some four decades later!

Last night, after working hard in the Delta heat and sun for several hours, we received a gracious text from our cherished friend Velmarie that we have been a blessing in her life over the last three decades. The truth of the matter is the Burtons, and every other client who has stayed with us in today’s competitive marketplace is a great blessing to Marion and me, professionally and personally, and continues to make our lives and our career greatly blessed. We are so very grateful to every long time client and friend.
