We were unaware of this group until someone recommended we join it. So, given we are located in Jackson, TN, we wanted to make sure you all knew we offer thermal drone services for pet searching, and hopefully recovering them. We've been offering drone services since commercial drone services were made legal back in 2016. We provide services for, Tennessee State Parks, TLM here in town and, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development to name just a few. We also serve clients all over North America with our award winning photography and cinematography.

Having said that, we are aware of ongoing scams where a company preys on those who have lost their pet and used AI to make it look like they found it and require payment to get it back to you. Don't fall for it! Look for red flags and ask questions. Ask for video that's longer than 15 seconds or photos of different angles that you haven't posted and make sure the photo matches what you can verify. If they get angry or demeaning for you asking, cease communicating and trust your instincts. If you uncover a scam, report it to law enforcement. They genuinely want to stop these scammers.

In addition here are some tips:
Put out some items/bedding with familiar scent on them close to where your pet got away (hang some on low branches so the scent can be carried better by the wind in the direction they were seen going), and where the last sightings were, and check those at known resting times.

If it's a cat, try dispersing the litter box they were using in areas they were last seen. Again, make sure the scent is traveling the way they were last traveling. You can even put some in a nylon stocking and hang from a low-lying branch.

If these tips aren't doing what they should, reach out (as soon as possible, or after a very recent sighting) so we can provide our services so they can help you have one of the best chances of recovery.

Here's a few things to note:
-We can't see through dense tree coverage
-When the ambient temperature of the air is similar to your pets body heat (think summer), it's harder to see animals on thermal
-During summer months, it's better to search at night
-The closer to the airport, the lower we have to fly or we can't fly at all without FAA approval
-The sooner you reach out, the better the chances we can find your pet by air

Can you believe that your lack of social media posting has no bearing on how active you are in business? It's true!

And, to be completely honest, I really don't enjoy spending my time on social media. 🙃

Here is a very small sampling of some of the photo jobs we completed over the 2025 year. And if you want to see some of the video work we completed for clients all over the US (and a thermal drone pet rescue), head on over to our website: https://tennesseedroneservices.com

Thanks for stopping in, and thanks for choosing Tennessee Drone Services for all of your media needs!

Want to see a happy ending? Watch this short video.

Backstory below:

No one wants to be confronted with the reality that they might not ever see their pet again, especially on Christmas. That was the situation Christmas night when we received a call from a boarding facility regarding a cat that was last seen on camera around 4am Christmas morning. They searched all day without any signs of the cat. The owner found us online and decided to take a chance and call on Christmas, and thankfully he did!

We arrived about 40 minutes after the call and swept the interior of the facility using thermal looking for heat signatures of the cat. Once that was exhausted, we moved outside to scan the surrounding area. Eventually we moved along a tree line and about a quarter of a mile from the facility found a heat signature that looked like it was in the Y of a dead tree. We directed the team to that location and realized that the heat source wasn't sitting in the Y of the tree, but was actually in the hollow of the tree. You could have walked by this tree a hundred times and never saw the cat, but through the use of thermal imaging from a top down view, it lit up with enough temperature disparity to let us know something alive was there.

An hour and twenty minutes into our search, the cat was reunited with the owner, and they were happily on their way to the airport to head home. We love happy endings!

If your pet ever goes missing, reach out and we will help if we can.
