Jackson's session last night had a few things in our way - weather being one of them!! But we didn't let that stop us. Instead, we went in with we'll capture whatever we can get while Mother Nature allows... And we ended up with some seriously creative images!

He is also not just another senior, but one of my cousins! It's always a pleasure getting to capture senior sessions in my family, it's nearly a yearly tradition by now and I love it!! And especially getting to see each kid growing into their own personality and passions. It's so special to get to capture that.

My favorite part of the evening though was being able to add in his grandpa's (now dad's) Miata and his guitar collection. Those meaningful touches into a session put these photos on another level.

Thank you Jackson, Sara, Paul, and Lauren, for spending the evening with me last night!!!

Rachel came back for round 2 of magician headshots! She first came to me a couple years ago when she created her stage persona, Leia Spade. I love that she came back for some updated photos as she grown in her craft and gotten a little older!

Her brother, Josh, was on my spokesmodel team last year - She couldn't let him be the only one in the family for fun photos! I can't wait to capture her senior photos next year, they're going to be epic!

Miss Raigin had her senior session with me last week and she wanted to incorporate her cosmetology future and some wildflowers! Love!!! She'll be graduating from cosmetology school at the career center this year and I'm excited to see her jump right into life after graduation!!

Ok, guys, we have to have a chat. I’m running out of sessions dates for this season.

To ensure I also have space for rain out dates, I can only add 1 more senior sessions into September.

October historically has a lot of rain. So, this year, I will be pushing back most order appointments to November to accommodate as many October sessions as I can realistically take on. With that said, October has 8 evening senior session spots available and I can accommodate 1-2 Saturday early morning seniors. This is typically unheard of as October is always first to book.

I have 3 studio tours already booked this week and assuming they all book, that gives ya’ll…EIGHT. SPOTS. LEFT. 👀

Want to hold off until spring? Good news, I'll be getting my new planner in the next week - so I will be able to start booking spring seniors for class of 2027 (and maybe even a couple early 2028 seniors!!)

Miss Meagan decided on Chicago for her senior session! I was so excited she wanted somewhere outside of Jackson. When I asked if she'd ever been here before, she said, "NOPE!" She wanted the experience of somewhere new for her session and I LOVE that about her!

Meagan is also one of my 2027 senior spokesmodels and has completely stepped out of her comfort zone all year. Watching her bloom in front of my camera in Chicago compared to our very first session back in March, she has grown so much in her confidence!!

Getting to take her along to some of my favorite spots in the Windy City in addition to exploring new locations together was a highlight!

Thank you to Jessie and Tony for traveling all the way to Illinois for her session and a HUGE thank you to my own husband, Derek for driving me to and from so I could get some work done AND for being my movable light stand for nearly all of the trip! You rock.

Miss Laila is one of my 2027 Senior Spokesmodels and she has had solid ideas for her session since our first meeting back in February!! She started brainstorming doing the flower swing on a a crane, and by the time session day came, she had it down to a science.

This girl is also a huge book lover! So much so, two of our three locations involved books!!

OHHHHH my goodness.

The end of an era...the last of the Kulka kids.

Brandon was doing the session for mom, he didn't have a solid preference on his photos or ideas in mind. Until we got started! Seeing him come out of his shell throughout our session and start to have some ideas gave me such joy. AND he plans on attending my alma mater, SVSU!!

I loved working with the Kulka family once more for senior photos. Brandon, I hope you have an exceptional senior year and that SVSU treats you well next fall!
