When two people are intentional about every aspect of their wedding weekend, this is what it looks like.

○ games on the beach with your friend group the night before you get married
○ an intimate ceremony in the redwoods, not an elopement nor a large wedding, because you care a lot about your close people and want them there to celebrate with you
○ starting the day with yoga together, your normal routine to calm nerves
○ dancing on the front porch with your girls, local pizza in hand (a favorite)
○ getting ready ready with friends in a big house all together
○ giving your friends kid a camera to take polaroids on the day as a core memory and staple of the weekend
○ a first look down the aisle and letting emotions flow during the ceremony

There are so many things I could say about this beautiful perfect wedding. Love between two people who fit into each other's lives and compliment the other, love between friends and family, I think meeting strangers like this shows me more of what love looks like and what I hope everyone can find themselves. It has taken me a few weeks to write a post for this day hoping maybe I could find the words for such a day with some time but I can't, so I hope the photos and the energy in them speaks for themselves.

I met these two in the dark at an empty trailhead. After reaching the lake in tine for some pre dawn astro, the colors of a soft morning sun washed out the stars. We sat and talked and watched the mountains appear out of darkness, and listened as the birds finally woke up. Our hike back was interrupted by a family of deer and a fawn, curious and uncovered by us sharing the trail. This is my favorite quiet corner of the mountains, a spot I wake up early for at least a few times a year to share it with others. Beautiful quiet Tetons.

SUCH happy frames from a happy couple of days!!!! Ella and Jordan adventuring around the Tetons, both wearing otter socks, filling the summer air with infectuous laugh and running the same path as a deer and butterflies. Some of these are film, some are digital. All are favorites from these two days of celebrating.

Thanks to second shooter DOCUMENTARY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | abby lou whom was down for a ten mile hiking adventure for this second day and I always love doing weddings with.

Hard to find a starting place for a caption that really does a day like this justice. Something I think is really interesting to see is when two people are so in sync that their vows have mirror points. Things both people love about their love or parts of their story so significant to their life together that you see it shared in both vows. Moments like that of alignment are precious and I feel are a testament to the effort put into a relationship.

Some moments I loved of this day:
1. Being on the side of the road with a YouTube video pulled up so Brooke could put on Garrett's bouttenniere
2. The morning of their elopement, B+G shared vows in their pj's in their tiny cabin and made breakfast together
3. Doing family photos BEFORE the ceremony because everyone knew it would be emotional
4. Bumblebees following the bouquet around
5. Being alone in the Tetons most of the day, the end of shoulder season and following a week of rain pushed out the crowds which was really sweet
5. I have had the Train Dreams soundtrack on repeat this season (it moves me to TEARS) and the deep forest photo was inspired by that film. We were blessed with a little falling golden ray as we walked through.

B+G were my first elopement of the year. It was perhaps the most chill elopement day I've ever seen, zero fuss about anything just chasing the light and celebrating a marriage with champagne and parents as the sun set over the mountains.

I feel so aligned with my couples this year (and have been lucky to feel so aligned in the several years leading up at this point as well). I am pushing myself to see this familiar place through a new lens and loving the challenge and fulfillment of it.
