At the end of the day, the most important thing about a family photo is that you took it. 🤍

You may have stressed for weeks about outfits and whether everything coordinated. Maybe you wanted to lose a few pounds first. Maybe you’re noticing wrinkles, your hair wouldn’t cooperate, or you just weren’t feeling your best.

Take the photos anyway.

Your babies are only this age once. The little hands holding yours, the missing teeth, the toddler who refuses to be put down …. is your life right now. And it deserves to be remembered.

Even if your child cries. Even if someone’s shirt comes untucked. Even if the lighting, the editing, or every little detail isn’t exactly what you pictured. There is still something precious in that photograph.

Maybe you’ll tuck it away because you don’t love how you look. But years from now, someone you love may pull it out and see their whole world in it. They’ll see your smile, the way you held them, and what it felt like to be little beside you.

And one day, when we’re no longer here, those photographs will mean more than we could have ever understood.

That’s why it hurts my heart to see AI images replacing family photo shoots or any Photos at that matter . A generated picture can’t give you the memory of holding your babies close, laughing together, or surviving a session with a very opinionated toddler. An AI image cannot represent YOU ! That experience is part of the story, too.

So yes, plan the outfits. Fix your hair. But please don’t let the need for everything to be perfect keep you from being in the picture.

Your family deserves these memories. And you deserve to be in them.

Don’t look for perfection in the photos. Look for the memory. 🤍
