One of the perks of traveling through farm country? Finding the good local stuff along the way!

Our Dairy One team spends a lot of time on the road throughout the Northeast, and we're always looking for new places to stop. Here are a few local finds from our travels!

Not every day at Dairy One comes with a view like this!

Our Farm IT team members Dylan and Mike were recently out at a dairy farm re-aiming a wireless antenna at the top of a grain leg after the farm's internet source location changed.

Mike captured a few pictures of Dylan working high above the farm.

And you have to admit, that's a pretty great view!

🎓 High School Seniors, College Students & Future Veterinarians — Don't Miss Out!

National DHIA is offering scholarships to students pursuing their education!

🐄 10 scholarships worth $1,000 each for eligible high school seniors and undergraduate college students. Undergraduate application deadline: October 31, 2026.

🩺 $1,500 veterinary scholarships for eligible third- and fourth-year veterinary students. Veterinary application deadline: December 31, 2026.

Did you know? Students with family connections to a herd enrolled in DHI testing, or to a DHI employee, may qualify for the undergraduate scholarships. Dairy One is a National DHIA member!

When did you first meet Jim Munroe?
It feels like everywhere we go, someone knows Jim. And there’s a pretty good reason for that.

Before becoming Dairy One’s CEO four years ago, Jim’s path took him from growing up on a farm in the Geneva area, to Cornell, to serving in the U.S. Marines, and later to managing Monroe Tractor in Adams Center.
Along the way, he’s met a lot of people. And if you’ve met Jim, you know he’s rarely a stranger for long. He’s outgoing, easy to talk to, and always ready to strike up a conversation.

So now we’re curious — where did you first meet Jim?

Say hello to Carmen, who works in our Forage Lab.

What’s the best part of your job?
My favorite parts are communicating with people, having fun, and spending time with my teammates.

What’s something you are looking forward to in the future?
Retiring! I plan to travel all over. I especially look forward to going to Hawaii, the Bahamas, and Mexico.

What’s your favorite dish to cook?
I like to cook anything Spanish/Puerto Rican, but my favorite dish is yellow rice.

Name some of the top things that help you do your job.
Working with Julian, helping others wherever I can (i.e., handing out sheets, etc.), communicating as much as possible, and making sure everyone is on the same page.

One test to rule them all.

Yes, believe it or not, dairy producers are required to test their milk every time their tank is emptied to be taken to a processing facility. Those bulk tank samples are sent to Dairy One for analysis to ensure the milk is safe for consumption.
