Hearts and prayers go out to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, United States Marshals Service, and North Carolina Department of Public Safety

Officer Joshua Eyer has passed away tonight from his injuries after being shot in the line of duty this afternoon while assisting other officers with the apprehension of a suspect. Officer Eyer faithfully served the CMPD’s North Tryon Division for six years and was a member of the 178th Recruit Class. We are forever indebted to Officer Eyer for his bravery and ultimate sacrifice. His life and service will never be forgotten. Please say a prayer for Officer Eyer’s loved ones during this difficult time.

Move OVER!

02/20/2018

On February 13th, Detroit Police Officer Darren Weathers was participating in a training exercise when the unmarked vehicle he was operating struck another vehicle and collided with a brick wall. Darren suffered critical injuries and was transported to the hospital where he passed away a short time later. Darren had served with the Detroit Police Department for a year and a half and was a U.S. Army Combat Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. Last year, Darren's partner was shot in the head while on a domestic disturbance. Darren dragged his partner to safety and returned fire, killing the attacker. For his heroic actions under fire that day, Darren was awarded the Medal of Valor. He was a husband, a father and was just 25 years old.
