Here's my bud Colton!
I've known this family for many, many years. The very first time I met them, I think Colton was only about 5 years old. His dad, Brad, worked at the fire station, and that's where we did their family photos. I still remember how much fun that session was. The boys were so little back then, and now here we are doing senior pictures. It's so crazy to me he's graduating now?
Over the past 6–7 years, we've become more than just photographer and clients. We've made so many memories together camping with our families and our amazing group of friends. We've traveled to South Dakota, Branson, Missouri, Michigan, Wisconsin, the Apostle Islands and they've come to our cabin to spend a long weekend up there with us always fun fishing and hanging out ... and I'm sure there are more trips I'm forgetting right now. I probably just need my morning coffee! 😂
One thing I absolutely love about Colton is that he's never been afraid to be himself. He is incredibly proud of the Jeep he completely rebuilt, and let me tell you... this thing is HUGE! Those massive tires aren't just for looks either. He loves taking it out rock crawling and putting all of his hard work to the test. I love seeing young people pour their time and energy into something they're passionate about, and you can tell every modification means something to him. It's truly his pride and joy.
He's also a huge bird hunter. While most of us are still sound asleep, Colton is already up at 4:00 in the morning getting ready to head out. He'll spend hours out there, and he absolutely loves it. He recently showed me some photos from one of his hunts with his friends, and they were pretty awesome. I wish I could remember what kind of birds they were (don't judge me... photography is my specialty, not bird identification! 😂), but it was easy to see how much he enjoys being outdoors.
Watching Colton grow up has been such a blessing. He's such a kind, respectful, hardworking, and genuinely sweet young man. It makes me so happy to see the person he's become, but at the same time, it's hard to believe he's already graduating. It feels like just yesterday he was that little guy running around the fire station.
Colton, I hope your senior year is everything you've dreamed of. Keep chasing your passions, keep building cool things, keep exploring the outdoors, and never lose that hardworking spirit. The future is bright, bud, and I can't wait to see where life takes you. Congratulations! And a big thank you Nikki for having me and as always it's so much fun to spend time together!
